lol, random kev?

asif should be banned i can't believe the idiot wouldnt learn from the 1st time he got caught!! another dark day in the world of pakistan cricket :( soo much talent he had but its all gone to waste...

Why can't they just ban him. Isn't this the third time he's been caught with drugs/taking drugs. He's a cheat as far as i'm concerned. No respect.

When Asif was caught in Dubai,he said that a hakim gave the drugs to him.

My main question is-Why on earth would a cricketer take treatment from a hakim and not from a doctor ?

A village doctor-normally one who does not have the medical degrees and so.They tend to give you powders and stuff to make you feel better.Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

If that is the truth then it's probably because he himself came from a village and village people tend to believe in such things.

They saved his life from what could have been more than just a ban.
Yes, the "I don't know what drugs are" defence, I can see it coming from a mile off already. Not that he argued that defence, only zMario did.

Whoever overturned the ban (was it the court of Pakistan or the PCB appeals board?) is an idiot, Asif is a cheating scumbag and I couldn't care less if his life and reputation are ruined. I don't want to start a war here, but this would not happen in Australia or England, and this just shows you how ridiculous certain cricket boards are.

THe PCB has already stated they will not back Mohammad Asif. They have also asked for all the expenses that the PCB had to pay for him during the Dubai Airport incident back as well.

I still maintained the fact that Asif did not know what the drugs were at the time, but now, Mohammad Asif will find no support from the PCB, or me.

Pakistan has lost another bowler

End of Asif career?

Bring Youngsters now

You've told me nothing I don't already know. It's an anomaly if a test is wrong. I do agree that it makes perfect sense to have a second sample, I didn't put my point across well though. That point being that a second sample showing the opposite of the first sample is very small. To expect it would give a different result isn't realistic.

I haven't put my point across well though, but it doesn't matter, tests could show that Asif has smoked all the opium in Afghanistan, we all know he'll be treated with a feather duster as opposed to an iron fist.
Oh for sure, it's clear that all drug testing in world cricket needs to be admissible to a central body, rather than this farcical localised process where one player can escape the rules that other players are subjected to.

By the way, I wasn't really looking to direct all of that information in that post at you, some of it wasn't quite directly related, but I thought it was a good point to raise.

It's completely hectic the current way it is done, the current way is just too trusting on boards when it concerns their star players. Don't they have a central control board for drugs in Athletics, Football, Rugby, etc? (Though in Athletics it's needed badly! :D))

Yes, good point to raise that information. The body produces quite a few things, tiny amounts of radioactive substances iirc, but when they were using it as a defence for the nandrolone it was a joke, because the drug tests would allow for small levels of that.

It's just so annoying, because I can imagine everyone on here going, "What?" at the punishment handed to Asif.

I know that in Australian football, the AFL conducts all drug testing rather than allowing the clubs to. The ICC have got to adopt some sort of code here, and enforce it. It's absolutely ridiculous to allow teams to test and punish their players themselves.
