Saw 'Rang de Basanti' today. Absolute gem of a movie. I don't necessarily agree with it, but its a damn good movie. I've loved Aamir Khan since I was a little kid.
one of the very best movies.and amazing songs.simply amazing songs.

as for the agrement with it, even they confess that what they have done is wrong.

The thing i don't agree with is the fact that they killed someone to get everyone's attention. Even though they confessed, that wasn't the right way of doing things.

Also watched 'A Time to Kill' for the first time. I cried during Matthew McConaughey's summation towards the end of the movie. Very powerful stuff.

Yeah very slick movie. The script, acting, screenplay and music are all top of the drawer. But like you, I had trouble digesting the "message".

I had a healthy debate with my father about that. He loves the movie and thinks that that is the only way left to wake people up in countries like India and Pakistan.

Anyway, I hear Aamir Khan's new movie Fana is pretty good. Anybody seen it yet?

yeaps i had seen it (Fanna) and its really a cool movie

I hate most of Indian movies, all they have is a Man falling in love with a Women, But some are good, not all.

You're right. There are very few good movies coming out of Bollywood that are actually good. Even then, some of the good ones are based on plots stolen from Hollywood movies. But every once in a while we get to see some top class movies.

What about Krishh ?
The so-called Indian superman ?
The movie made no sense to me.The way the guy was flying(waving his hands n stuff)
And how can a brain dead person come back to life ?

well in one of the superman fims over here, superman flew around the world (agaisnt the direction the world spins) and went back in time that way to save Lois Lane

and suerman can bring brain dead peeople bakc to life because after all he IS superman

may be you should realize that its a fantasy movie...and most fantasy movies make no sense.

The only thing i liked was the background music and the locations in the first half. Nothing else.

RDB's ending was not what we can expect, even in real life. But its a powerful movie, with a message...and we can see it being replicated in real life as well.

Its a mediocre movie. You can probably watch it once, but you can't suffer through it twice. Wouldn't have been such a hit had it not gotten imbroiled in the whole narmada controversy.

Thats a pretty ignorant thing to say. Arthouse indian movies are some of the best in the world, and even mainstream bollywood often comes up with some pretty good films. Its not necessary only those films which conform to american style of filmmaking are categorised as good. Any discerning critic can plug a million holes into the Matrix, which is considered oh-so-good by almost everybody. The mere fact that Indian film industry is flourishing (in fact its the largest film industry in the world) in spite of the hollywood onslaught, unlike anywhere else in the world, should confirm the fact that Indian films are pretty effective.

So then you agree with me. If you read my comment again, it was not meant to be a blanket statement for all of India, just for Bollywood. I have been told there are many top class movies being made in India outside of Bollywood, but I didn't comment on that since I've never had the chance to watch any.

P.S: That's not a very fair assumption, tbh.
