New interview ?

It sure does look like a new interview. so AI will be better, there is new power stick, action cam and quitter "alert". For me these are the new features we will have. I will pay to have these features. I am excited about power stick and few more areas to bowl rather than just one spot.

WTF is cricketgaming, looks dodge. Can an admin confirm this please

Probably, the interview was very unprofessional. Beating them to death with the PC question :laugh

Action cam + power stick + new ai + quitter system = worth 40 bucks

/end story

LOL at that AC09 won best game on Cricket gaming, how many people voted? less than 10 I bet

John Szoke: Ashes Cricket 09 didn’t sell the numbers we had originally hoped for on the PC and once we began design and work on IC2010 it was obvious that some new features like the power stick weren’t going to translate across to PC easily.

Like I said. :spy

As exciting as the traditional ‘TV broadcast’ cameras are, we wanted to bring a fresh approach to cricket games. We have tried to make playing a cricket game as exciting as actually playing cricket! When a fast delivery is hurtling down at you, it is a frightening experience.

Can't wait to experience Acam. Mostly he just expands upon massively improved A.I. but I'm not too bothered by it since no A.I. can beat the online experience.

Bowling game-play has had slight makeover. You no longer position the reticule, you hold it in position. Same with adjusting your spin/swing. This gives you more control, and also allows you to ‘bowl by feel’ – after experiencing this we think you’ll understand why we made the change. It also enables you to play…… in NO HUD mode! This is probably our favorite ‘hardcore’ feature. You can literally turn off every HUD in the game, so you’re just playing cricket out in the middle. Want to spot that gap as the batsmen? You have to look around and find it. Want to bowl a bouncer? Pull back on the stick. It brings a whole new level of immersion and authenticity to the experience. We know many of you have wanted to try batting without seeing where the ball will pitch until the last second just like real life – now you can.

This could help end the dominance of bat over ball in the online play.

I'll be buying it. Online has made an improvement. The game still lacks depth without stats tracking, but let's support Trickstar for the present time to ensure they really get up and running. They deserve a chance. If in the next version of the game lacked stats tracking and other vital cricketing features, then we'd have something to really complain about.

We'll just not buy it.

That's it. WE'LL STRIKE IF THERE'S NO STATS TRACKING. Yeah they'll read this.

"The AI will play a more realistic game of cricket against you. Batsmen will pick gaps in the field more intelligently; bowlers will be more devastating with their line, length and tactics. Teams will chase and set totals, declare and follow-on appropriately. We think you?ll find the AI is much improved over Ashes 2009."

I remember reading the same things regarding AI in Codie's Ashes09 Pre release Q & A with PC. I just hope most of the above things are actually in the game this time around.

Ain't that Hitterman's site?

I really care about that special feature to overcome quitters. Ashes Cricket 2009 online is flooded with quitters,

if in no HUD mode bowling is as said in interview where you cannot see the cursor till the last moment and u hv to guess the length then it is very good addition
also looking for gaps by looking around rather than just looking at the field map is a good introduction

hope this hardcore mode is available online though

This is real I bet. I remember asking Gambience(criclife developers) when they did an interview and said it was legit. This one should be too.

It was a pretty descent interview and nothing looked shady about it

It just feels that they are pushing too much until next year. Hopefully atleast this will be less buggy AC09 version

EA Cricket 2007 already had the action or batsman's cam. You could see the ball through a semi-transparent batsman. Didn't prove too useful though as it was near impossible to judge line and length from that angle. So most of the times you played a pre-mediated shot else there was no way you could play a timed shot.

Let's see how codies have implemented it. However, this feature will only work for offline gameplay - don't see online gameplay would be too helpful for this feature with all the cursor moving going on.

alfa_beta added 4 Minutes and 15 Seconds later...

The problem I see with this approach is that right now you have to pretty much play a shot as soon as the ball leaves a bowler's hand. If the cursor shows up late how exactly will you choose the shot? I don't want to pre-mediate and guess the shots I am playing else it would be no fun. I want to be given enough time to at least play a shot without guessing or pre-mediating.

HUD off would simply force you to play your favorite shot, or target the gap every time. If the ball is in the right area you get runs else it's a dot ball.
