So, what exactly has/is happening in Pakistan? I haven't come across this piece of news being floated anywhere else other than Cricket Twitter.

Hasan Ali needs to be dropped, his pace is too low and he is not swinging the ball at all.
Mohammad Wasim jnr would do well in Tests, not sure about Haris Rauf but he is worth a try.

Along with paying an undisclosed sum as compensation, New Zealand will play extra games on their tour to Pakistan in early 2023, and invite Pakistan to a T20I tri-series before this year’s T20 World Cup, also involving Bangladesh.
Kudos to the PCB and Ramiz Raja for getting NZ to pay up. This also shows that their security problems were nonsensical, otherwise they wouldn’t pay compensation.

Shan over Imam is a no-brainer. Fawad has only had two bad matches since his comeback. Nawaz has to be in, he was discarded in Tests without reason and provides batting depth. Shadab should replace Faheem on turners.

This is where things are tricky. We need to reinvent our middle order, basically, and I believe Shadab is the best option at 5, unless Haris gets another go. He has demonstrated batting ability repeatedly. The ODI WC is in India, so apart from Shadab and Nawaz we might need a third spinner sometimes. Zahid and Usman are the options there. Time to dump Hasan Ali, let him play Pakistan Cup this year.
