you think the england captain paul collingwood is setting a good example to children who think that he's their role model?

I think the press should get off players backs in there own time.
Once they're off the field and the team meeting or anything else has finished the player have then a right to a personal social life with out the media getting in.

Collingwood has a right like everyone else to go and do what he wants and men can go to strip clubs. Its not exactly a bad example since kids may do the same when their his age.

You may think it's the wrong thing to do, but the kids will soon realise they need to earn money to pay for these strip club visits, and the only way to earn money is to study. So effectively, Paul Collingwood is motivating the youth today to study instead of spending their young years developing terrible addictions such as alcohol, drugs and billiards. A bad role model, I think not.

Well, he can now visit the dance bars at home in England instead of in SA. :p

When it isn't Flintoff getting drunk and almost sinking a boat, it's Collingwood going to lap dance bars. It must be stressful to play cricket for England.

You are being a tad foolish. He was taking to a strip bar by friends and left immediately. Remind me what exactly he did wrong?

Are you running to be prime minister of the world? Because you've got my vote :p

Manee, you can't let facts get in the way of a good rant!

A professional sportsman smoking, you don't see the reason why he was hounded?

If its effecting his performance on the field, they can drop him. An adult should be able to do whatever they want as long it doesn't infringe the rights of others.

You forget robbing and drug dealing, considerably cooler ways of earning money.

I never mentioned anything about dropping him, you brought that up, I was saying the press were right to lambast a professional sportsman and role model for smoking. Oh and technically smoking does infringe the rights of others, it's only legal due to the revenue it generates, but that's for another thread.

Collingwood was clearly bored of Mickey Mouse and wanted something stronger...I would of gone for a Test match myself.

But it is true, who cares..

I think this thread title would be so much better with the word 'up' in the title.

I think the situation has all been a bit "And?" to every question. It's not a big deal, I don't think many cricket fans have thought so. Okay it was silly to go into the bar (even if it's just to drink), but he soon realised his mistake and left so credit to him.
