PlanetCricket.net Sports Personality of the Year

Face Off: Who should WIN the PC.net Sports Personality of the Year award?

  • Total voters
    13
  • Poll closed .
You obviously know little about it. The result is the only thing planned, its the job of the wrestler to make up the moves between them during the match. The risk to injury is quite high due to this, and the matches are tough.

What's the point if the result is planned? It's crap, like Hatton-Mayweather on Saturday, if the winner was already planned, there wouldn't be half as much hype.

There's a reason it's called World Wrestling Entertainment.

I'll second Dave Batista for two reasons:

1) No matter what people say, it is a tough job.

2) I wanna annoy some people.

I'll accept as I know he won't win. He might not even make the shortlist.

If any wrestlers make the shortlist I'm boycotting the voting in protest.

There's 11 in the list so far, there can only be 10 in the final shortlist, so there will be a poll to elminate one on Sunday - perfect time to eliminate Batista!

Me (tassietiger)

I play footy and cricket and come from Australia. What's not to love about me?
I'll second you, even though I've never seen you play, or indeed seen you at all. So that's a nomination and a seconding. Stick him on the list Lee.

The point remains they are still sportsmen. Although the results are planned they are in the same boat as Ricky Hatton, Wayne Rooney or Tiger Woods. They are sportsmen and athletes.

No they aren't. Athletes play every event with a desire to win. Wrestlers don't because it's not under their control.

They are still athletes. An athlete means a physically active individual training for or participating in an amateur, educational or professional athletic. This is the exact definition of a wrestler. They train very hard.

Perhaps Roger Federer(Tennis), I know he always wins but to win yet another Wimbledon, and consistantly fend off challenges to remain the top of the world

After that, Lewis Hamilton has already been done, otherwise he would be my choice, and then Bryan Habana

Exactly, wrestling is just an entertainment spectacle which is staged, athletes have to try their best and perserve to succeed as who wins isn't already decided
