Ponting will have another crack at the Ashes imo

Thats tests. Players can retire from one form and play in other forms.

Personally, I see this World Cup as Sachin's final Limited Overs Tournament. He should retire at the end of the World Cup from ODI and T20 cricket, and should solely focus on test matches (where he has the responsibility of taking India through the transition phase). India dont need Sachin anymore for ODI's and we have good players like Kohli, Gambhir, etc and upcoming guys like Pandey and Pujara. WC Final or no final, he has to retire from ODI's. Already he has been missing too many ODI's. Its time he said goodbye to ODI's and T20's.

He'll come out of retirement and play for Bangladesh and be their fastest bowler at the age of 70. May also be named as their skipper.

Bangladesh's pacers are faster than India's, you gotta admit that.:thumbs:yes:thumbs:p

Expect at least two out of Sachin, Ponting and Kallis to retire from ODI cricket straight after this WC.

Any thoughts on Chris Gayle ? Guessing this would be his last World Cup.
Andrew Strauss ,Collingwood too may not last long either.

Vettori is pretty close too, he's desperate to retire from one day cricket but i guess he wants to leave the team on a high note.

Or ducking out when his team needs him the most?

Gayle? He is only 31, and he is fit. I can see him playing the next WC. Form is not an issue for players like him. Shiv may retire though.

thats why he's still there and probably will be a while after the world cup but not as captain. i hope they let him keep the test captaincy and not force him retire early just like with fleming. lol if that happens... irony. :p

May be for Collingwood but I don't think that Gayle will retire so soon.

A lot depends on who wins, if your team wins the older guys will probably want to go out on top

Why would Lee retire he has been in great form even if hes not at the pace he once was. I dont really think the Aussie team is the same without him.

He is 34. He can't continue to bowl quick in this stage of his career. Genuinely quick bowlers don't get to go beyond 34-35.

Yeah. I'm more confident of Lee retiring rather than Sachin. If India wins, then Tendulkar surely retires.
