Hooper, he is 24 and i think he is under 19 west indies, in game imran khan
Akram: Good Afternoon and today we saw a positive day of cricketr for the bowlers, I ahve here in the studio with me Younis Khan pakistan Batsmena dn vice-captain adn West Indian number 11 and opening bowler Jermaine Taylor.
The day started well for the West Indians with only 23 mintues of play being played and 33 balls. Coming in for teh 34th Lawson cleaned up Taufeeq Umar and put the Pakistanis under serious pressure, at 14-1. Younis Khan and Imran Farhat put on possibly the best partnership of the series so far taking the score to 173-2 playing classy shots and confidently running the show. Until after 50 overs Omari Banks got one to turn a bit and Khan top edged the ball straight into the hands of Sarwan. This Base was all the Pakistanis could have dreamt of so when only 7 overs later Taylor came back into the attack and with his very first delivaries started possibly the worst clapse in Pakistani cricket for a long time.
First Inzamam went chipping to mid off on only 11, then Taylor got a bit of bonce and Gayle took an awesome catch at second slip to dismiss Yousef for only one. 198-4 and 7 balls and 1 run later it was 199-5 and Bravo had Razzaq caught behind for a four ball duck.
Now looking in serious trouble PAkistan did not help them selves going from a commanding position of 173-1, to a disatrous position at 199-5 26 runs going for four wickets
With the score on 199-5 Akmal and Farhat began to rebuild boosting the score to 237-5 and going well until Farhat played completely down the wrong line and nicked the ball for lara to pouch comfortably behind the stumps, This brought Banks his second wicket and having got both Khan and Farhat in the region of 80-95 he had two vital wickets under his belt.
238-7 and a golden duck for Akhtar trying to hit the ball out of Pakistan and ending up lbw to a fiery yorker from Lawson. 244-8 and Akmal finally goes for a sturdy 19 from 53 deliveries. The last two wickets went with only 10 more runs added to the total. Banks taking both of them and ending with figures of 68-4
Akram: So the West Indies came out to bat with 10 overs of play remaining the first 8 overs went by without a hastle but then W.Ahmed came in to bowl and his first delivary had Gayle cleaned up. This meant Sarwan came in with 11 balls to deviate. They survived and are 25-1 at the end of the First Day
Now a few questions for you two
Looks Over To Khan and Taylorl
Akram: Just Khan you first, what was it like to bat out there any trouble with the pitch?
Khan: No, i dont see anything in the pitch that should stop you as a batsmen, me and Imran(Farhat) felt comfy and its just annoying for the team to have collapsed like we did.
Akram: The collapse started as your wicket fell, do you think there is a reason behind this
Khan: No, obviously as the wicket fell the bowlers got some confidence back and then very well done to them for playing so well and restricting us to 250. But you know what they say 1 wicket brings 2 and i think tommorow is going to be a very good day of cricket
Akram: Yes, and Yousef has not been in good form is any action going to be taken or will he remain in the side?
Khan: Mohammed has to be treated like any other player so if he fails in the second innings there may be another batsmen brought in but i have trust in him and i know the selectors trus him after he has had such a good year.
Akram: Thankyou very much Younis and good luck tommorow,
YOUNIS KHAN LEAVES
Akram: Jerome, well bowled today does it feel good to be back in the National side?
Taylor: Obviously it feels fantastic to come in and although we all feel very bad for Fidel i have to admit i was very ahppy with how i played and figures of 3-47 made me a very happy man.
Akram: And what is your opinion of the pitch anything suspect for the batsmen?
Taylor: No i feel Brian, Shivran, Wavell and Ramnaresh will all make good runs tommorow and hopefully i wont have to bowl till the third day.
Akram: Thankyou and see you again tommorow
