I have been tweaking the settings for batsmen and bowlers in the edit player section and am almost on the verge of getting a good mix that when playing against the A1 they dont want to hit everyball out of the park after a few wickets are down and the run rate is kept between 3 and 4 for most games when playing test mode. I still get the occassional runout but they dont seem to attempt as many suicide runs as before and the spinners are now an effective weapon on turning pitches or when the ball is older. The settings need to be applied to both teams playing otherwise the team being controlled can easily score at a ridiculous rate. I still need a few more games to tweak as the A1 unfortunately are only lasting between 60 and 70 overs
When I have adjusted enough that they can bat longer than 80 overs in a game I will post the results but it is actually looking promising and I have enjoyed the games I have been playing
Some things for you to adjust and play around with
Batsmen running speed should not be greater than 50% whereby fielder running speed should be set as high as possible
Top order batsmen strength should be around 50% no higher getting less for lower order and tail enders
Timing can be 70% and lower in relation to ability
Catching should be lowered to around 80% or less so that not all catches are taken
Adjust fielders running speed and throwing strength and distance higher than what they are this seems to make the batsmen think before they attempt stupid runs
Bowlers who are medium pacers but only bowl around 110-120 I have made fast bowlers and set the pace scale to around 50% therefore allowing them to bowl around 125-135 mark with the occassional quicker delivery.
Unfortunately the game doesnt allow the editing of either the Aussies or Poms which is unfortunate
I have now played around a dozen innings with the settings I have at the moment and apart from the A1 only lasting 60 or so overs and averaging around 250 - 280 runs I have games lasting 4 and also into the 5th day if I bat sensibly.
If you make the changes to both teams I guarantee you wont be able to smash the A1 around like before and will end up being out very cheaply
Will post final settings in a couple of weeks

One other thing I forgot to mention I play in normal mode as this has proven to be the best mode for the A1 not to behave too erratic
