Hello,
before the easter holidays (5 weeks ago or so) I had such a great rhytm and I was constantly able to land the ball at good length and swing it away beautifully.

Till day before yesterday I did not play any cricket and suddenly I find that I am bowling full tosses short deliveries even balls flying above the batsman's head (in the nets). :crying

I seriously dont know where to start again to find the same rhytm etc. Could somebody please help me, where to start?
should i start bowling without a run up trying to land it on a good length and once i am in control again then bowl with a runup??? plz help :(

thanx

i suggest in the beggining. take a few steps for runup, and try bouncing the ball hard on teh deck, making sure it goes to the wicket. or atleast not wide. then wen u have perfected that. take a run up, bowl slow until u perfect that and go faster and fastr

hope it helped bro

Be in the nets for 9 hours on sundays same thing had happened to my batting at a time but batting at the nets continously with my coach helped get back the rythm

shubhrayu added 1 Minutes and 26 Seconds later...

6 AM-3PM Without any break have good snacks before going and in these 9 hours just drink water as you're a fast bowler

Simple target practice (whether it is a chalk box, or a cricket ball in the nets to aim at) will help you to find your accuracy. But to maintain this in a rhythm, you should try to keep a consistency throughout the approach and action. An example of this in the international game is Bob Woolmer timing Allan Donald's run up during the 1999 World Cup to the millisecond and informing him via a small reciever in Donald's ear (which was subsequently banned) - because Donald's optimum pace and accuracy are achieved with a run up which was just below top speed (I don't know the exact figure, but the sentiment should be clear).

thanx a lot guys!!! I hope our club will organize a net session soon so that i can find my rhytm back!!! :D

i think all the people above are correct they made top quality points to help and make sure try to bowl line and length not pace then once you got line and length try it with pace. it has happened with my batting i went to nets yesterday for 5hours

Try starting slow and picking up speed in your runup. Also, as said before, keep in constant. Also try bowling cross-seam.
