Great win for India there, I'm sure it was a wicket. ;)

Interesting to see Tnedulkar opening but overall batting for India was strong and Sree was fantastic with the ball. Keep it up mate.

Great win for India. Great batting by Ganguly.

Good to see Sachin opening but not getting any runs.

Nice update. KUTGW!

We arrived at the ground early morning to have a session before the fans arrived and the team began to really get some momentum during an intense fielding session and an equally promising net session. I felt good in the net and after my disappointing decision in the last game I just hope I can get some runs in what could be my last game of cricket in Australia. We were sticking to the same side and order from the first final and the pitch was dusty and going to turn. When Mahendra went out for the toss the fans went crazy, there was a good Indian support and if we won today we took the clean sweep in Australia and there is nothing better than that.

The only change in the match is that Clarke has been brought into the side and Bracken has been dropped. Whether or not this is a good decision only time will tell. It does mean that the batting is stronger but on the other hand Symonds will have to bowl through 10 overs. As Mahendra returned we got the news that we were bowling for the second time in two games. I had a quick word to Sreesanth and told him how well he bowled in the last game and told him to keep it up and really attack the Aussies. With Khan also having the new ball I really do expect there to be some wickets within the first 10 overs and hopefully we can put some serious pressure on them early doors.

We need a good performance from Sreesanth again

Indian domination, Sreesanth and Khan started us well having them 38-2 from 10 with both Hussey and Hayden gone. In the field we were getting really confident and when we took 4 wickets for only 60 runs from the next 20 overs, Harbhajan bowling amazingly with turn bounce and energy taking 2-25 from 10. He was barely getting touched on a track that was helping him more than expected. Ponting made 16, M. Hussey 3 and then Clarke 16. When Gilchrist entered the crease for what could be his last innings for Australia he got a standing ovation. Sadly he was dismissed for only 4 caught short by Dravid off the bowling off Ojha. Now with them on 98-6 from 30 overs we are in total control to bring on Kumble and then the openers.

Gilly runs out for what could be his last ODI innings ever!

70-2 from the last 20 and Khan was hit to all corners by an aggressive Symonds. Sreesanth bowled incredibly taking 2-39 and really dominating the Australians in the last few overs. Kumble at the other end bowled 10 overs for an incredible 16 runs bowling with everything and was unlucky only to pick up one wicket. With this now being a serious opportunity to win this game I think 169 are incredibly gettable. The plan will just be to bat it through and make sure we get there with as many wickets in hand as possible.

16 runs from 10 overs an incredible achievement for the test captain and master leggie

Yes, simply magnificent. The ball was coming onto the bat, the bowlers were bowling full and I felt simply magnificent. 169-0 from 42 overs and a boring yet easy victory for us in this second final here at the Gabba. There was no pressure on Sourav(74*) or I(89*) in this simple victory. We never needed to do anything silly and simply took our time and just won the match and the series. Gilchrist deserves a round of applause for an amazing career and with everything that?s been going on I don?t know whether I should continue playing or not?

Sachin Tendulkar Announces Retirement

This morning Sachin Tendulkar announced retirement from international cricket, going out in style finishing the tour against Australia with a match winning 89* an incredible innings that showed the master in full flow. He has produced Incredible performances throughout the tour of Australia including 56,91,109* and then 97* in consecutive innings before missing two matches. He scored 3 centuries in the series and an 84. Tendulkar?s performances throughout his career have been fantastic and this decision has come from absolutely nowhere. Yesterday however he did say that ?After such a fantastic series I feel it is the time to bow out, my body hasn?t been 100% throughout the series and I feel its time for new blood to enter the Indian side?

Throughout 18 years of test cricket Tendulkar has scored over 12500 runs at an incredible average of 56. Sachin has scored 42 hundreds in 152 matches and can be named as one of the best batsmen of all time. His stats make him look incredible but scoring his first class maiden century at under 16 years of age and becoming the youngest test debutant at the time he made his first appearance. Sachin claimed that his greatest memory of his life and a point which marked a turn around in Sachin?s career. He says,? I use to bat in four nets at one stretch. Whenever, I use to get tired, Achrekar use to keep a one rupee coin on top of the stumps and say, ?Anyone who gets him out will take this coin. If no-one gets him, Sachin takes it.? Tendulkar till date contributes this technique in being instrumental for enhancing his concentration. He still treasures the 13 coins earned by him during the practice sessions

When Tendulkar was picked to play his first Test for India against Pakistan at 16, his father had to sign his contract with the Indian cricket board because Sachin was not old enough to do so. In the next Test, faced with a barrage of sledging from Wasim Akram, Tendulkar is said to have asked Akram why he felt the need to sledge when his bowling was in a class of its own. Sachin is a man of pure genius and at the tender age of 16 he was able to cope with facing the best Left arm pace bowler in the history of world cricket. His shot selection is superb, he just lines you up and can make you look silly. Everything is right in his technique and judgement. There isn't a fault there. He is also a lovely guy.

His career now over Sachin may turn to coaching, maybe first class cricket or maybe leave the game. Yesterday he said he had no comment about what he would do in the coming years and lets just hope he stays in cricket and does something either in first class or for the good of Indian cricket as a national sport. Its sad to see a man who is a hero, a legend and to some a god leave the game that he and millions of others love, with my final words I say good bye Sachin and thanks for the memories.

No! Sachin is gone? Does this mean you will end the story?
At leaset he went out with a bang. anyway,
Thanks for the memories Sachin!

Noooooo Sachin still had another 10 years left in him, good luck with whatever you got planed Freddiw:cheers
