India dont have it in them to stay at top for so long. They are not consistent. So far only team that can stay and maintain the top position is Australia. The fight is for second spot. Since india wont play many tests in the next 1-2 years i dont see them at the top for too long.

Mate do not worry your this wish will not be true.. India are playing South Africa in 3 Test again... that is almosst 99% Confirmed...


Next Thing

Aussie will come up the ranking's as they are playing WestIndies,Pakistan and England only at HOME... no away series as they are kid's who are damn scared to play away matches... So their conditiona and they will win 9-0 that is all matches...

And then Rickey will score 9 Hunderds score 1500-1600 Runs.. in 3 series as they are almost minnow teams as far as Test Matches are considered

So enjoy Aussie coming to No1 as they deserve after sledging and cheating... to win with thier Conditions..


One more thing... When India Win World Burns in Jealousy Escpecially Aussies..

and when they loose it's Aussie's who laugh...

I am happy enough that India have been in and out of that No. 1 position in both tests and ODI's. We are strong enough to stake a claim for that position. And even though the rankings might be flawed, our team has been deserving enough to be bracketed among the top 2-3 sides in intl cricket. Thats a enough reason for me to celebrate!

First of all i am an indian. So dont twist your undies. And i was saying as a neutral person that australia deserve to be number one. Look at their bench strength first. They have every player ready for each spot. They are consistent they can win trophies consistently. What does sledging has to do with it? Dont be so childish. You are a genius sir and you have a solid point. Now ask South Africa, Australia and Sri Lanka to win a series in India then i will say that they deserve the top spot. And england can only dream about that. Its always Indian team who has to prove that they play well in all the conditions what about other teams?

And what is this crap "Australia can only play at home" - we defeated South Africa IN South Africa, when was the last time India did that? When was the last time India defeated Australia at home? Four of our last six test series have been played away, and did we not just make India look absolutely second rate with a fourth string one day team last month? An Indian saying Australia can only win at home is absolutely absurd, we have beaten everyone away from home this decade and usually more than once and when India can do what South Africa did in Australia then we'll talk.

Australia only play at home?? We played 4 of our last 6 series away. I'm certain there is NO team that only plays at home, what an absurd comment and completely false and immature.

I have no problem with India being no.1, but its hardly the same as when Australia was no. 1 say 5 or so years ago having beaten every team home and away convincingly. But, no.1 is no. 1 and good on India. I doubt they can stay there, SA couldnt stay there either after beating Australia last summer so we'll see. I think it will change over regularly. It will be close for a little while.

Sorry to burst your bubble but South Africa didnt beat full strength Australian team. Australia was rebuilding at that time. And india has managed to win test matches in Australia against the strong australian teams. India came so close to win their first series in Australia in 2003(which india dominated). I guess you were in your nappies then? And 2008 wasnt bad either apart from sydney test controversy. You can go and check head to head records of South Africa and India against Australia in Australia.

South Africa just beat Australia when they were in rebuilding phase and suddenly they are the toughest competitors of Australia? What kind of BS is this? Can South Africa do a Kolkata? Can they challenge Australia in every match year after year at home and away? Only time will tell. South Africa lost the home series against Australia after winning it in Australia.

Sri Lanka is the only team in top 4 that has never won any test in Australia, South Africa and India. Yet they are at number 2.:sarcasm

I would like to congratulate India, but frankly speaking, i dont think that they will remain No1 for a long time, because Aus will trash WI either by 3-0 or 2-0 whatever...so Aus will regain the sopt

I won't say we're the No.1 team in the world if we only get that by thrashing the WI, Pakistan and NZ.

A couple of big summers coming up for the Aussies after this one. The Ashes in 2010/11, India in 2011/12 and the South Africans again in 2012/13.

All this leading up to another tour of England in 2013. Maybe by then we'll have a more clear idea of who is the best.
