Second Round- Portugal vs Holland

4 reds, 9 yellows... has to be probably one of the worst matches I have ever seen, FIFA should really hit back at all the players booked and the general dicipline of the match.

Great news for England however with all the send offs and a possible injury too.

It was a Russian linesman that helped England in 1966 and it's a Russian referee who's helped them in 2006.
Portugal will be definitely without Deco and Costinha, probably without Ronaldo and possibly without Figo. Not to mention that they will have 5 players going into the quarter on a yellow!

Poor Holland, the ref completely ruined what was a pulsating and thrilling game.

if Van nistelrooy came on the 60th min and had the chances Kuyt had he would of scored

Ok i agree with van basten dropping him but you should definatley give a player of his quality a run in the 2nd half

A lot of people will be asking him the same question.

I thought the ref got most of the fouls right, except for Deco's second yellow and the dutch's first sending off.

Great news for England though.

Why was there 7 mins of extra time? I missed mins 89-91 because I had a microsleep and didn't see how many extra mins there were.

Was it because of the amount of cards?

Well, one of my favourite team is out. And the referee completely ruined the match. Some cards were fair, but the referee really overreacted at times. Also to blame some players: Van Bommel overreacted and Figo posted an Oscar winning performance to get Boulahrouz out. And Blatter said something about the referee right after the match: he is contention of getting a yellow card himself too.

I myself was surprised that little time was added. I myself would have added way over 10 minutes. Even 15 minutes. Since most of the time spend in the second half was of giving cards and taken care of injuries.

But it was an exciting match, mainly caused cause of the sending offs. The Netherlands didn't grab chances, and there were some very big ones, like Cocu and Kuyt.

But somehow I am happy they're already out, since the rumblings are already starting why players like Seedorf and especially Huntelaar, were left out. Also strange that Van Nistelrooij wasn't inserted and Vennegoor of Hesselink got some minutes.
