Penguins best Weekend
Playing their second season of the National Cup, the Penguins have reserved the ticket to play in the third round. Effine sent a semi-hard team in to play. The lineup was:
Hiller
Badenhorst
Knight
Pine (+)
Daley
Burger (*)
Lisbie
Rogan
Groves
Roe
Carmino
Losing the toss, the Penguins were put into bat first. The Penguins played a decent innings posting 270 for the loss of 4 wickets on a green pitch. Daley top scored with 78 off 60 balls, while Badenhorst played the new ball to score 63 off 90. Pine was unlucky to end not out on 49. Stuart took 3 of the 4 wickets.
The reply was pathetic The home team was bowled out for 206. The slight recovery in the middle overs didn't help. Rogan wreaked havoc by taking 8 wickets. Jones top scored with and 84, and Blake assisted him with a 52.

Another good news for the Penguins was the arrival of Theo Spiller. The 17 year old was a promising player, and was late just because he was showing his talents to the West Indies Under-19 staff. Jepson indicated that Spiller had a good chance to play for the Under-19s when he turns 19. Effine denied to reveal his position and indicated that he wouldn't be playing any match this season.
