Second Penguin Arrives

Following Rockys footsteps was Right Arm Medium pacer Rolando Carmino. Carmino was not what Effine wanted.

Effine said:
He is not what I wanted, nor does he bowl as well as Groves. Nonetheless he will stay and bowl as a back-up bowler, Occasionally breaking into the first XI

Just curious to know,

"Is it taking more time to build a strong team from scratch compared to the time you took for developing your well built team before? "

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the shorter form of the game, the Penguins managed a victory against the Mad Hitters, who proved thier might in the last match of the OD tournament of last season, by beating the Penguins. Yesterday the lineup was:

Badenhorst

The Penguins were going forward with their strongest lineup, with a few surprises in it. Yorke was to captain the side for the first time, in the absence of Burger and Benn. Groves was making his One Day debut for the Penguins. The Penguins won the toss and elected to field first again. The Hitters played a good innings and were doing well at 190/4, before Rogan struck and the scorecard read 220/10. Rogan ended with figures of 6/39 with 5 balls remaining. Muller and Groves shared 2 wickets each.

The Penguins chased slowly, the openers Badenhorst and Davison posted 90 before Badenhorst fell for 44. Yorke hit a quickfire 39 off 37 before falling to Noon. Davison too fell at 61. Worthington and Hedley took the team to victory with a quick 45 off 21 and 21 off 16. They reached the target with 16 balls to spare. Curtis took 2 while Noon managed 1.
