This game looks unbelievable, it looks like it's capable of taking STALKER to a whole new level.

That trailer looks awesome... do you know when and what consoles this game is coming out on? Haven't heard of it before.. but wow, the trailer looked pretty good. The human and zombie movements looked a tad jerky but the landscape and lighting is unbelievable, beyond anything of its genre.

It's only out on PC, there's been 2 others in the series before it. I'm playing through Shadow of Chernobyl again at the moment with the drivable vehicles, Hell mode, and improved graphics patch, and it's got an atmoshere unrivalled by anything else.

Can't wait for CoP, gonna be epic

Sorry to be a pain, but have you links to all those mods? STALKER is crying out for vehicles (do the AI use them as well and are they in CS?) CS arrived a few days ago, will play it when finished with SoC (am very near the end now).

I'm using the Transport Mod, along with the STALKER Rebalanced Mod, which changes everything from the weather to clip sizes in weapons.

Be aware though, that they require you to start a new game. It'll simply crash if fed into a saved game, and as you're near the end, it's probably best coming back to the game after you've played CS. I did find a vehicle mod for that too, but it's buggy as.

'STALKER Filefront' is the best place to get mods, they're all there and easy to find.

Right, I finally finished SoC, and got the 'false' ending apparently. I'm going to go back to the game to look for other 'true' endings after playing CS, which is convenient, given that CS is set before SoC...

To get the good ending, you need to collect some kind of thing from some trash in the middle of the trash, its a side mission I think. That helps you get through a door somewhere in the end and you don't have to go to the asking stone...

Never had an opportunity to play STALKER games,would have loved to play them,but then will buy this one if it turns out to be good.

It's not too late, you should still have time to play SoC and CS. CS is only ?5 at Zavvi and I'm sure SoC itself won't be that much more expensive. Can't speak for CS yet, but SoC is definitely worth picking up. There are hours of play in there and some great mods are available. Just make damn sure you get all the patches for both games, as they really do need them.

I've played played STALKER: SOC and CS and they were two of the best game I have ever played. The environment is so immersive... you'll really want to play both of these. These two games were fairly buggy ofcourse, but among the grime there are few bits of gold (i.e superb graphics, immersive environs, engaging storyline etc). The few patches that has been released managed to fix the critical bugs (i.e mission triggers). Make sure you have good amount of RAM and top-line GPU otherwise it'll give you trouble.

Will do, after I've done with CS (which might be a while yet because I'm hooked on the PES 10 demo...)

Steve, once you get the true ending (it is worth it for the final battle with the Monolith) head over to this site: GSC Game World - Official Site and then go to the Mod Downloads section in SoC. The two mods I recommend you try are the Supermod Pack Version 2.4 as this also makes the game never end and you can flick back between levels and basically do whatever the hell you want, plus it lets you join any faction, drive vehicles, fixes bugs, adds a whole bunch of new artifacts, the list is endless. Then try the Priboi Story Mod. That is the one I am currently using and it changes the whole game as you now play from the military perspective. Been using this mod for weeks now and still not completed it.

Need any help, just ask, this is easily the best game I have ever played and is the only game I have played for weeks
