Since more than 60% of the advanced internet users use Mozilla Firefox these days, I thought of creating this thread.

Talk about the various tweaks, addons or anything related to Firefox here.

I'd recommend you guys to use DownloadHelper Addon. It allows you to download videos/pictures from any site (yes even flash videos) with the help of a single click.

Also, here's a trick to increase the browsing speed. (Most of you might know this trick already.)

Chrome>Opera>Firefox>IE tbh.

My Firefox has seemed to run PC really slow lately, which is why I'm back to IE.

I don't see how a browser can suddenly be going slow :S Unless you installed a whole heap of addons?

Firefox=best.
No chrome opera or even IE stands near it.
Firefox is the best and with addons, it's legendary.

Chrome is the best. Addons slow it down terribly though because of its sandboxing - it runs each tab and each add-on in a separate process, so that if one of them crashes, the whole browser doesn't crash with it. This means that if you don't have a lot of RAM, it can get slow when you have a lot of tabs open/lots of addons installed. Only install crucial addons - all i've got is an ad-blocker, the cricinfo addon, and a few other small ones. It is much faster than Firefox though, Opera is about similar speeds.

Chrome is way too glitchy for me. I've installed it on over 5 different systems across the spread (Vista, XP, Windows 7, different internet connections, etc.) and it always gives me problems with accessing web-pages. This is with no add-ons--an out of the box experience. I keep getting "page cannot be loaded". My guess is that it's timeouts are too strict and it doesn't distribute resources across the processes properly with multiple tabs, since that's when it seems to occur most frequently.

Firefox is my browser of choice, without question. The only add-ons I install are AdBlock, Web Developer Toolbar and Gmail checker. I leave it open all the time so launch time is not an issue for me. Unlike Chrome, I don't get any dropped webpages. I also don't need to worry about page caching since my Internet connection is fast enough, so the "Chrome is faster" doesn't matter to me at all.

sohum added 2 Minutes and 45 Seconds later...

This is a contradictory statement. Chrome has obviously not solved the add-ons problem if add-ons cause it such large performance problems. With Firefox's rich library of add-ons, that run while keeping the browser stable, I'd say Firefox is better. The differences between the speeds of a browser are so minor that only statisticians care about it.

Persona is a pretty cool add on. Themes for your firefox browser. I have a Sachin one currently :)
