The FM Elimination Challenge (June 2026)

Got a fair few awards and bloody hell, a value of $41M. That is really good, increasing my previous value by 13.5M

Sure thing Treva...

In 2011 you were named in the Metalist Best XI, and you have been named twice in Russia's seasonal Best XI in 2012 and 2013, as well as being inducted into their overall Best XI with 25 caps. You have been named in the English Premier League Team of the Week once at Chelsea, and finished third placed in the 2013/14 English Players' Young Player of the Year award.

You also started in 30 games for Chelsea last year and came on 14 times as a substitute... would've earned more points than anyone, by a long shot.

Thanks. I now despise Metalist, they are a disgrace of a club. I would be up top had they not screwed me over.

Are they in your world domination database? Might play as them when I get round to downloading it.

Of course they are Treva... they aren't complete bogans. ;)

I think they are either in the Bronze League, United North or United South. Fairly high up by any standards, around tier 8/35. ;)

You started at Valencia and moved on loan to NAC Breda for a season, and then returned to Valencia, although most of your awards were received at NAC Breda.

You've been named twice in the Eredivisie Team of the Week, and you were shortlisted for the 2011/12 Dutch Player of the Year despite being English (although I presume it is to do with the league that you play in). You were named in NAC Breda's Best XI for 2012. After returning to Valencia, you were named in their Best XI in 2013.

You've made 19 youth appearances for England, scoring 5 goals, but have yet to make your senior debut and your game-time has been fairly limited still at Valencia.

Well, I'm in an updating mood, so here we go...

January, 2015
Age: 22y

There were no huge moves from June '14 to January '15, with the biggest a loan move from MaD to Wigan, who are in the Championship. This is actually a terrible move for MaD, who is almost certainly going home now after a superb effort from Matt to pull away. Maney has slipped back into 6th placed now and he will have to watch his back but he looks set to see off the challenge of MaD. Meanwhile, the heat is on up top as a great half-season from Shantanu Rooney sees him ready to crack the top two.

Mattfb (GK, Italy)
Club: Everton
League: English Premier League
Player Profile

Matt is in superb form at Everton and he played the majority of the half-season at the Toffees, with Tim Howard making just 6 appearances in total. He has surged out of last position and ahead of MaD and Maney to find himself in 5th and in hot form. He has been playing excellently and has conceded just 24 goals in 25 matches although Everton are only in 10th position. He still hasn't broken into the Italy senior side, as he is currently still behind first choice keeper Marco Amelia, as well as 36 year old Gianluigi Buffon.

Nakul (ST, Spain)
Club: Valladolid
League: Liga BBVA
Player Profile

Nakul continues to remain loyal to Valladolid and he is playing well for them. He has scored 9 goals in 20 appearances and they look set for another comfortable mid-table season after being 12th after December. This is all fine for Nakul currently, but he might need to make a step up soon because he isn't going to win the competition without making some international appearances and dominating in La Liga.

MaD (DC/DM/MC, England)
Club: Wigan (on loan from Chelsea)
League: Coca-Cola Championship
Player Profile

He was once leading this competition but those days are long gone as he sits in last place by a comfortable margin, with his loan move to Wigan crushing his dreams. A similar incident happened to Giggity Giggity last season after he went on loan to Huddersfield and history has shown that the Championship is a common eliminating grounds for competitors. He has made 21 appearances for Wigan, who sit 2nd in the Championship, but it is hardly enough as he is not earning enough points.

Hedger (ST, Sweden)
Club: Juventus
League: Serie A
Player Profile

Hedger continues to impress for Sweden and Juventus, and he managed to hold on to his lead yet again after a strong international season and half-season with Juventus. He has now played a total of 31 international matches, scoring an impressive 23 goals and he is only 26 goals away from Sweden's all-time record which is 49 set by Sven Rydell, providing Ibrahimovic doesn't add to that record (he now stands on 88 caps / 45 goals at the age of 33). It is also all good at Juventus for Hedger who has scored 16 in 24 this season including an impressive record of 7 goals in 6 matches in Europe.

Points: 1154.72

Ollie H (MC, England)
Club: Manchester City
League: English Premier League
Player Profile

Ollie had a fantastic summer for England, taking his total caps up to 15 and he is now a first-team regular, or so it seems. He gained further on Hedger, although Hedger has managed to hold on to his lead after some strong performances. Ollie played 18 games in total for City, a tally he will want to improve after he picked up a broken jaw which hampered his chances. He also has another factor to worry about now, with Shantanu Rooney hot on his heels. What will happen here?

Maney2k9 (ST/ML, Ireland)
Club: Wolfsburg
League: German Bundesliga
Player Profile

It was a quiet half-season for Maney2k9, who found himself out of favour with the management and played only a few games. A twisted ankle kept him out for three weeks and he struggled to make his way back into the team after losing some match condition. In the end he made only 7 senior appearances for Wolfsburg, and suddenly what seemed at first like a fantastic move has suddenly started to fall down. He is still however in 6th place and looks set to survive for at least another year and a half.

Points: 759.00

Shantanu Rooney (ST, England)
Club: R. Madrid
League: Liga BBVA
Player Profile

Shantanu Rooney is the man in form and his performances and efforts have been nothing short of brilliant. He made 5 appearances and scored 4 goals in an England squad featuring Ollie Holden and scored an amazing 13 goals in 18 league matches to be second in the La Liga goalscorers table, behind just Andr-Pierre Gignac, after the Frenchman scored 15 goals in 17 league matches. However, Rooney has started to blitz the competition and his competitors are under some serious pressure as he puts the heat on. His value is now also a staggering $51M, making him the 12th most expensive footballer in the world.
