David Gower: Hello and welcome to day four of this second npower test match where the West Indies are looking good in their second innings. To take you through this mornign session of play are Sir Ian Botham and Nasser Hussain.
Sir Ian Botham: Thanks David and welcome everyone to this fourth day where the West Indies will look to build an even bigger lead in this match and really challenge England so far they have done that with Wavell Hinds and Brian Lara at the crease. We will see what will develop in this session and i am sure it will be fascinating to watch.
Two overs pass with 2 runs being scored. It is 91/1 and Panesar is about to bowl to Hinds in the 49th over.
Nasser Hussain: Here we go then Monty Panesar to bowl and Wavell Hinds is on strike. Just a boundary away from his half century then and Panesar bowls and that is huge! Hinds plays a massive shot and keeps goign and going for a maximum and Hinds has his first half century of the series and it is well deserved. Congratulations Wavell Hinds.
Sir Ian Botham: Also that is the 50 partnership up for Wavell Hinds and Brian Lara and they are looking very comfortable against the England attack. That was a fine shot from Wavell Hinds. This partnership needs to be broken by England.
Nasser Hussain: Right Monty back to his mark and Wavell Hinds looking to attack here. Monty flights that one up and he has bowled him! Fine comeback from Monty Panesar and Wavell Hinds must go for 52. Great innings but he will be disappointed that he didn't go on. The West Indies are 98/2.
Sir Ian Botham: The new man for the West Indies is Shiv Chanderpaul who played a good innings earlier in this match but can he do it again? England still have a lot of hard work in front of them that is for sure.
12 overs pass with Brian Lara and Shiv Chanderpaul content to nick singles and take two's and three's they are just looking to develop a partnership before attacking again. Simon Jones is brought into the attack in the 62nd over with the score 110/2.
Nasser Hussain: Right Simon Jones into the attack then and he needs to be accurate here as he was expensive last night. He will bowl to Brian Lara. That is four. Lara connects with a cover drive and he is now 22 not out. Jones needs to bowl tight and put pressure on Lara.
The next over is bowled by Flintoff and the Windies score two more. Jones is to conitnue to bowl.
Sir Ian Botham: Right Jones to continue and Brian Lara on strike again. Running in and that is wide and short and Lara punishes Jones with a square drive timed to perfection which races away to the boundary. Lara is now looking very confident and very dangerous England need his wicket and they need it fast.
Another three overs pass and Jones is replaced in the attack by Steve Harmison. It is now 128/2 and Lara is on strike again.
Nasser Hussain: The big man from Durham, Steve Harmison is into the attack now then. Michael Vaughan will be hoping that the big man can do a better job than Simon Jones. Runs in then and that is short and wide and Lara whacks it through point for a boundary with another great square drive. Harmison does not look happy and he walks back to his marl. Running in again and that is a good line but Lara is in and goes for it and plays a beautiful cover drive past the cover fielders for another boundary to move into the 40's.
Andrew Flintoff bowls the 69th over and it is a maiden leaving the score 138/2. Panesar is quickly into the attack to stop the runs. Lara is on strike.
Sir Ian Botham: Right Michael Vaughan has turned to Monty Panesar to bowl tightly and not give away to many runs. Lara is on strike though and approaching his half century. Panesar in then and that is huge! What a slog sweep from Brian Lara that was an unbelievable shot it clears the rope and is ten rows back for a six! Panesar won't like that but that was the shot of a masteful man and Brian Lara is proving he is an amzing batsman here.
Flintoff bowls another maiden and is proving to be a star for England here. Panesar to bowl again.
Nasser Hussain: Right Monty Panesar is in again then and this time hopefully he won't concede massive runs and hopefully he will restrict Brain Lara who is now a sniff away form a fifty. Panesar in then and that is another massive one. That is down the ground and it is twent rows back for another maximum and Brian Lara has his 50!
Sir Ian Botham: And that is also the fifty partnership between Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Chanderpaul has only contributed 5 runs to the entire partnership so can we really call it a partnership?
Nasser Hussain: Right that is the end of the over and Freddie Flintoff is now set to continue. Lara on strike again and that will be four! Slower ball and it is picked early and driven through the covers for a crisp boundary great shot.
The last over is bowled by Panesar and one run is scored. That is the end of the session.
Sir Ian Botham: Right so the story of the West Indies batting is they are going well and causing England a problem here. Lara is on 61 not out and will be aiaming for a century and Hinds has scored a half century. Chanderpaul is struggling but he is 5 not out. Overall the West Indies will be very happy with their effort this morning.
Nasser Hussain: As for the England bowlers Panesar now has both wickets but in that session the man who bowled really well was Freddie Flintoff. Jones and Harmison were expensive and Vaughan had to get them out of the attack quickly.
Sir Ian Botham: Join us after the break for analysis of the session and Michael Atherton names his young guns team.
