Sri Lanka are good but not that good.......they only have success at home.........nothing much overseas. Murali depends on the track to have spin.......and Vass is a good pace bowler, who is accurate aswell. The Lankan batsmen are good but also inconsistant. I just think Sri Lanka will struggle in Australia conditions ecspeccialy at Perth if they play thier.

true, its not the same condtions as s. lankan's likes to play, and even vaas cant do anything along he need a bowling partner.

Sri Lankas main run scorers are Sangakarra and Jayawardne. Attapatu, Jayasuria, Dilshan and Arnold do get the occasional big scores in evrey 5 to 6 games but they are very inconsistant. The Lankans also are poor agaisnt very quick bowling in those Conditions in Australia.

South Africa V Sri Lanka Final, SA to shade it, 2-1. First and third matches, with Sri Lanka winning in between. Close group stage with Australia missing out on run rate or similar.

I would seriously laugh if Australia don't make it into the finals but the chances of that are extremely unlikely. It will be a SA v AUs final. Interesting will Aussie fans still shout "no-ball" when Murali bowls at the cricket grounds which I find now quite ridiculous.

I still remember when he declared by how many degrees each of the Australian fast bowlers straighten their arms, immediately followed by Jason Gillespie stating he'd never been biomechanically tested. Not a great way to win friends.

Thats unlikely to happen..........it should be a Australia vs South Africa final. But dont write off the lankans.

Your opinion is impressive. Do you support it with any reasoning, or just sheer pluck?

Technically it's the top three ODI teams in the world, or near as possible. Aus are unsettled at the moment, plus they're going to try to be clever. SA's batting is strong with Allrounders like Pollock and Botha at number 9 or 10. Sri Lanka have enough players to see off Australia. Plus the biggest reason is the Aussie squad, if Australia rest players they will lose games. Plus if under pressure they can fold, as the England Tour showed.

If I'm right will I get apologies for all those slagging me off?

I would say Australia vs South Africa in the finals, like most of the people are predicting, with Australia winning it. But Sri Lanka in form is to watch for. They're slowly getting better.

I don't think the English tour is a great example, we didn't lose the ODI series. Sri Lanka are far from the 3rd best ODI team, more like 6th or 7th. There is no doubt Australia are out to prove something, but they won't be cute about it.

And 4 in the last game. Vass is going just fine, hes the pick of the bowlers. I remember last time SL were here, they were in very poor form and everyone wrote them off. In the first game they beat the Aussies so anything is possible with them. Murali is going to be hard to play as always and the SCG (if Aus play them there) will favor SL.

Aus without McGrath leading the attack really fall apart. Especially if they try guys like Johnson who is yet to prove himself. Clark is starting to get use to the international level and Dorey is another Clark/McGrath.
