Ball 4:

Agarkar to Muralitharan. Ball pitched on middle stump and Murlaitharan heaves it high over mid wicket, The balls going...going...gone...for a huge 6!

Murali has scored 16 in 3 balls and Sri Lanka now require jsut 2 in 2 balls. They are almost there. Still any result is possible here.

noooooooooo, cant beleive that India lost after such a big total.
Even I couldn't believe it. I thought I had the match under wraps but Muralitharan came in and just went berserk!. 17 runs of 4 balls - I never expected that sort of hitting!

Ravi Shastri: Welcome back! What a match this has been! Over 650 runs scored and a great chase by the visitors. 329 runs to win and a last ball victory. Brilliant stuff! One name stands out - Marvan Atapattu. He hit his career best 154 runs off 138 balls and enabled Sri Lanka to pull of this one! Sunny your thoughts!

Marv(an)ellous Knock!

Sunil Gavaskar: Amazing innings. Whats great about that knock was all the 20 boundaries were hit along the ground! Only once he hit the ball in air and he was caught off that.

Ravi Shastri: Murali Kartik bowled well for India to return with 4 wickets. But others it was downright disappointing!

Sunil Gavaskar: Pathan, Agarkar, Harbhajan and Yadav - They all went for runs! Harbhajan looked clueless being clubbed for 50 runs off 6 overs!

He needs a lot of sorting out to do!

Ravi Shastri: A quick word before we head on to the presentation ceremony. What will be the possible changes for the next game at Jaipur?

Sunil Gavaskar: We could see Raina and R.P.Singh come in the team. Cant say who the likely replacements would be!

Ravi Shastri: What would you predict about the series?

Sunil Gavaskar: We have seen two really tight matches. But SRi Lanka have won both through their grit! They are No 2 in the world for nothing! I predict the series 4 - 3 to Sri Lanka.

Ravi Shastri: Thanks Sunny! We will take a short break and when we come back, we move straight to the center for the presentation.

I think the team is feeling the abscence of a virtual Chappell here.

The Presentation with Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to the LIVE coverage of The Videocon Cup 2005 on DD Sports. We have witnessed a great match today with Sri Lanka successfully chasing 330 runs and thereby creating a new world record. Let us begin the proceedings by calling upon the captain of the losing side - Rahul Dravid.

Rahul, tough luck. What went wrong?

Dravid: Well! we couldn't defend 329. That pretty well sums up our bowling today! We were poor with the ball and cant take out any points from Atapattu for his fantastic 100.

Sanjay: That was a truly great innings. But you would be happy to the return in form for Sehwag

Dravid: Yes! Viru was in due for some runs and he did that in style today.

Sanjay: Any changes for the match at Jaipur?

Dravid: We are looking at few options and we need to have a look at the pitch before deciding anything.

Sanjay: All the best for the rest of the series.

Now I call on the captain of the victorious side and the man of the match -- Marvan Atapattu.

Marvan, splendid innings from you!

Atapattu: Thanks Sanjay! It feels great to be back in form. and also doubly pleased that we won such a great match

Sanjay: Did you personally feel that you could chase 330?

Atapattu: Honestly No! But once we reached the 20 over mark we started to believe that we can do this. So we took 5 overs at a time and proceeded.

Sanjay: There were a spate of runouts?

Atapattu: Yes we need to work on that! But it was fantastic that Murali bowled well and also hit the most important runs in this chase.

Sanjay: Looking forward to Jaipur?

Atapattu: Yes! We are confident and are keen on getting a good grip on the series.

Sanjay: Thanks Marvan! Thats it from Mohali. Join us in two days time for the 3rd ODI from Jaipur. Good Night!
