The thing I don't get:

Many companies run demo days or field days showcasing their product. Take the car industry or mining industry for example. You would never expect to see cars or plant that didn't operate properly, or engines that fail. You would never expect to see a product that didn't match what you would expect to receive after paying for it. Not only would this deter customers, it's very poor practice. Perhaps even illegal (refer to the Department of Consumer Protection).

And you certainly wouldn't see representatives of these companies offering mundane excuses, and engaging in childish banter and berating those who dare to question the quality of the product. Tell me, what other industry would you see this???

Why is it that Big Ant engages in this unprofessional behaviour and believes that it was ok to display in a public forum a substandard, unfinished product littered with horrendous bugs? This is completely unprofessional, and to me shows the hallmark of a company that has no idea about quality control and professionalism. How can they be trusted to take your hard earned money for a product that has no verification as being reliable and being able to do everything that the company has said it would do?

Given this, my wallet is staying firmly in my pocket.

Comparing an old build of a $xx video game, to a life-endangering faulty car engine.

We have a winner guys. We can all go home now.

Lots of posts here amount to - "I refuse to buy the game because I hate things that I can turn off!"

If someone is posting on PC regarding cricket video games, he/she will buy the game. I mean why else would someone take the trouble to open an account and spam the forum?

Comparing apples and oranges there. Car/vehicle purchase is a different proposition altogether compared to buying a video game. Different requisites, consumer base and expectation. It's akin to a consumer applying the same yardstick to purchasing a chewing gum as he/she would before purchasing a high end 3D smart LED TV worth thousands of dollars.

There will be a day one patch. Critics also must realize that this game has revolutionary control scheme unlike anything in the past. Bigants are in this for the long haul and things will only get better with each iteration. Lets just play the game before making sweeping statements based on videos some of which are on an older build.

Looks like every day, a kitten or puppy has to be chased here. ;) if this trend continues, we might have a poll for average kittens/puppies chased per week before release date! Ok, it's time now for me to explore some kitchen decoration stuffs from ashes forums. :D

You make sense, too much sense to be bothered responding to one of the more ridiculous things i have ever read, anywhere.....ever

I give it a week minimum after release till his wallets firm grip on his pocket is not so......firm

Disney, one of the biggest most successful companies on planet earth, opened it's doors to the public for the first time after a HUGE PR program of publicity, with almost every ride in the park faulty, broken and some (Pirates of the Caribbean) completely dysfunctional, eventually to be re-hauled after opening.

Test vehicles by major automobile makers that are supplied for "review" (if you can call it that) often have features disabled or removed when they're put into production for the public. Many features differ greatly from that which are originally included and advertised in many international markets.

Almost ALWAYS BluRays and DVD's are supplied for review purposes without the retail extra features such as commentary and behind the scenes documentaries.

Games reviewed by MAJOR websites before release routinely miss any DLC or extra features and in many scenarios, cannot be played without a company representative in the room at the time, who then takes the disc away. Faults often go unreported by magazines in these demo discs for fear of losing advertising dollars.

There has never, to my memory (Matt can confirm) been ANY demo release of any Ashes Cricket title.

Ross has been nothing but totally honest since day one. Is a member of the forum as much as he is a developer and has earned nothing less than our complete trust in what he says. Is he here to sell a product? Absolutely. Does he want this title to supersede all expectations including his own? Absolutely.

In short, you're utterly wrong in every possible way.

Allow me to show you to the door...

AC09 has a demo version, which showed bugs that the final game didn't have because of the nature of how demos are made.

Well after a long time I am posting on the forum. The game is a must buy for all the cricket lovers. The game has issues which will be either resolved by the day one patch or in the next installment.Feilding needs to be improved.

Even bigant are not providing free review/preview copy for reviewing so we can say safely that their will be no paid review.

The lofted shot behind square on leg side that resulted in a catch impressed me, the way the ball shot off the bat in the reply was quality, the most realistic thing I have seen in any cricket game

Since most of it has been replied already by Biggs, I will skip that

Regarding being unprofessional and throwing banter's in public; you might have missed the recent banters between Sony and MS. So yes these things happen

Reading his posts since Oct 2012, Ross has been brutally honest. I guess some people cannot consume that. And he didn't had to do much as Trickster's made fool out of themselves all on their own

After watching the playtest session at EB I was a little worried about what kind of product Big Ant had produced. However I also knew that Ross was super keen to not use the beta version that they did. So I reserved my judgement until seeing the Apocalypse Gaming Youtube capture of the final version.

I am extremely impressed with it. The animations are clearly the best ever seen in a cricket game. Though replay value will be impossible to judge until we have our hands on the game (as with any other), I will be buying DBC14 from day one.

In regards to some of the criticism you guys need to pull your heads in. This is Big Ant's first attempt at a cricket game. It is completely unfair to judge the quality of the game against other modern sport titles such as Fifa, Madden or MLB. These games have been refined over many years. What Big Ant have produced is a cricket game from scratch. Give them 5 years of annual titles and I'm sure you'd see the range of refinements that EA have been able to implement with their sports games.

The Australian gaming industry is small and underdeveloped. However there are some extremely dedicated and talented people. These homegrown companies need our support. I realise I'm ranting a bit now, but put it this way. Mining isn't going to last forever, and manufacturing is on the decline. If the Australian economy is going to diversify, we need to expand into emerging sectors such as game design. We have the universities to do it, the industry just needs our support.

Kudos to you Ross, and your team. Clearly DBC14 isn't perfect, but it's a refreshing new direction for cricket gaming. I wish your company every success. Haters gonna hate.
