Information about Twenty20 cricket

Twenty20 is a form of cricket, originally introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board in 2003. In this format of the game each team bats for a maximum of only 20 overs. A Twenty20 game is completed in about three hours, with each innings lasting around 75 minutes.

Rules

1.Should a bowler deliver a no ball by overstepping the popping crease, it costs 1 run and his next delivery is designated a free-hit, from which the batsman can only be dismissed through a run out

2. Bowlers may bowl a maximum of only 4 overs per innings.

3. The following fielding restrictions apply:
* No more than 5 fielders can be on the leg side at any time.
* During the first 6 overs, a maximum of 2 fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle.
* After the first 6 overs, a maximum of 5 fielders can be outside the fielding circle.

4. Points will be awarded as follows :
* 3 points for a win .
* 2 bonus points will be awarded if a team wins inside 15 overs .
* If there is a possibility of a tie then both the teams will be awarded 1 point each .
* If the teams are tied with their points at the end of the group stages then the team with higher net run rate will go through to the next round.

The telecasting rights for the Twenty20 World Championship is given to SKY sports. SKY Sports promises to bring more innovative technologies with all new style presentation and new commentry team with the best commentrators from all test playing commentators and some special guests. The matches will be telecasted on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 both having different presentation style with different graphics.

Technologies
Well as far the technologies are concerned the cricketing fans are going to enjoy it. The presentation will be completely new and few new technologies as well which you have never witnessed.

1. HAWKEYE
new.gif

Hawkeye is the best and promising technology which SKY Sports have used for their past series. The hawkeye will be new with different angles and all animated. This is the most promising thing from SKY Sports.

2. HOT SPOT
new.gif

Another stunning technology to be used for this tournament is the HOT SPOT. Hot Spot is a technology used by the military to track jet fighters and now it is added to the cricket technology for the first time .The Hot Spot, is reportedly 100 % accurate and shows whether the ball has hit the bat, pad, glove or ground by utilizing infra-red technology . The Hot Spot uses two infrared cameras positioned above the field of play at the southern and northern ends of the ground . They record play and spur into action if there is an umpiring incident. These cameras sense and measure heat from friction generated by collision, such as ball on pad or ball on bat enabling the exact decision.

3. HI-MOTION
new.gif

Hi-motion is the new technology to be used in this tournament. This will show us the replays in extreme slow motion. This will enable us to see great batsman techinques, fabulous bowling actions and tremendous catches. An very enjoyable feature for the pure cricket fans.

4.SNICKOMETER
Snickometer is a great technology which gives the confirmation of caught behind if the ball has caught the edge of the bat or not. The Snickometer will be fully animated with thin peaks confirming the decision.

Plus more and more technologies to be used in this story .:)
