Please can you talk about this in your own thread. Updates have been worked on but both of us have been a bit busy. And Freddiw don't go round advertising your story, if people want to see it they will look if they want too...
At this moment I would just like to say this is the final chance to edit your predicta contest group predictions. Once we next update the chance will have gone and the predictions will be the same
David Gower :We have all witnessed a great start to the Twenty20 World Championship as its been a close contest so far between South Africa and West Indies. South Africa were off to a flying start as Smith and De Villiers were smashing the bowlers to all parts of the ground and then Kallis came and played an anchor role in the middle of the innings. At one stage it looked as if South Africa will get a huge total on the board. West Indies bounced back in the match due to some good bowling by Samuels, Bravo and Gayle who all took the important wickets at the right time. South Africa finally managed to reach 165 runs in their alloted 20 overs but it will be a difficult task for South Africa to defend this total. David Lloyd is alongside me in the studio. Welcome to the show David. What do u think about this start to the tournament?
David Lloyd :Thanks David. Terrific start to the tournament David, something which I had expected and this is just the start and still there are loads of excitement in store. It was great effort by West Indies as they have bounced back in the match just at the right time when the game was slipping away from them. South Africa should have capitalized on the great start but as I said earlier that it's a Twenty20 game and just one mistake will cost big time for your side and thats what South Africa did today. Just when a wicket fell the new batsmen came and tried to go for the big shots straight away and thats the reason why they kept on losing their wickets. But Kallis played really well for his 49 runs off just 39 balls. If we take a look at his wagon wheel then we can see that he smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground and he played some good textbook shots. Thats a good example for his team mates that Twenty20 cricket is not just slogging around for fours and sixes instead some good technique and textbook shots gives much better result and Kallis has proved the point today.
David Gower :Thanks Bumble for your comments. Nick Knight is down there along with J.Kallis.

"Unlucky to miss out on a well deserved half century and more today. How do you think the pitch played? Is it still a good batting pitch and do you think under the lights it will affect it at all?" - Thank you Nick. I feel the pitch has got harder to bat as our innings went on. Spin definately changed things and although those no turn it is hard to get them away. Especially that spin is usually introduced and there are fielders all over the boundaries. This pitch is definately a hard to pitch to smash into the stands. We didn't get a single six in our innings which did surprise us. The lights should work in our favour and I am actually looking forward to try and get some wickets if I get the chance to bowl.
"What do you think of your chances in this competition? You have home advantage and a vast range of quality international cricketers, do you believe you will win this thing?" - Well of course we believe we can win the competition. But saying that we will do cannot be said. There are many high quality teams in this competition and it will be hard against all of them. We have the strength and skill to win and we will be trying our hardest to make our fans happy and for this country to win the first ever 20/20 World Championship on home soil.
"There has been talk of you coming to England maybe next season. Can you tell us anything about this?" - There have been a few rumours going around that I may be coming to the English domestic competition. I have got an eye on coming to England but definately nothing sorted out yet. I know that my international career may come to an end soon but I would still love to play at domestic level.
"Best of luck for the rest of the game and look forward to seeing you with the ball in your hand" - Cheers Nick

David Gower :Thanks Nick for that great insight on J.Kallis's views. David it sounds interesting that he feels his international career is coming to an end. It is never a good sign when a player is saying that sort of thing and do you reckon it is better to get in new talent now rather than leave it for Kallis to make his own mind and an opportunity may have been lost?
David Lloyd :I think it is David. Sure he is and has been a great player, but it is time for new talent in this South African team. The start is that Thomas has been selected in this Twenty20 World Championship and maybe it is time for some other young batsman to join the squad as well. Definately time for a change in the South African team.
David Gower :Ok thank you David. Right now we shall take a short break but when we come back we will have the first edition of "Supporters Hide-Out." Don't go away...
ANNOUNCEMENT: Stu (!x!Culli!x!) has been added to me and treva to be party of this story. It is now to be known as all of our story and we hope this story can really give you guys a good read
"Who do you think are in the driving seat at this mid point of the game?" - Well, we just now seen the 1st innings, its pretty hard to tell now, anything can happen though SA has played not a good cricket in the first innigs. They may play a good one in the 2nd one,but for now its obviously West Indies in the driving spot.
"Who do you think was the most influential bowler out there in the 1st innings for the West Indies?" - hmmmm! All bowlers were magnifacent, Samules, Colly, Bravo, Bradshaw. Bradshaw helped to remove the opener. Collymore, Bravo and Samuels help to get rid of the tail but among of those Samules bowled pretty well, at the slog overs giving only 19 runs and picking up important wickets. I have to pick one but it would have to be Bradshaw for his work at the top of the innings.
"How do you think the wicket will play during the 2nd innings? It has shown occasional glimpses of movement and under the lights do you think that the ball will swing and move off the seam a lot more?" - I dont think it will differ in the 2nd innings, but if dew comes into play then it will be a problem for the seamer, they will not get the grip on the ball and will have problem whilst running. For batsman the pitch may get affected. Overall its still a batsman pitch and shuld not give any trouble.
"We have seen some very innovative and exciting batting from the West Indian ODI side. Do you think they will improve throughout this tournament or do you think they have enough talent and skill there already to take them all the way?" - West Indies have a very good batting lineup, during the world cup they were not lucky to see any kind of explosive from that side, but in the natwest, they played awesome, Shiv was in great form. So this batting lineup has everything that is needed to make a run to the final. But along with that, there are teams like Australia, Sri Lanka ect, so they will learn some new things from the champions and they will get better day by day.
"Finally, there has been a lot of talk about South Africa being a major contender for the title and most have classed them as favourites to win the group. Seeing as they are on home soild and have large support behind them along with their very talented squad, do you think they will live up to expectations?" - Well, SA are in home country so definately they have the edge on other teams. On the other hand we should not forget that in WC 2003 was also scheduled here in South Africa, but SA didnt even make it to semis, so home soil or away doesn't really make any difference. Of course the home team know the best way to use the pitch and all but its the bess team what matters to win anything. Though we should not also forget that cLassic match between Australia and South Africa chasing 434. We saw some top class shots form Proteas, so anything can happen. But South Africa is a strong contender and can shuffle the match anytime.
