In last 25 ODI games he averages 43 including that forgettable England series for him.

Also in those 25 games 12 were won by NZ and he averaged 73 in them.

Ryder meanwhile has average of 39 in his career and 38 in matches won by NZ.

So if Taylor fires NZ is more or less guaranteed victory.

Iirc Taylor had a heap of not-outs against the Windies, that would boost his average by quite a lot. Ryder also has a higher strike-rate.

It doesn't really matter though, Taylor and Ryder are pretty much even. Although what you said is true, when Taylor fires NZ wins a lot more of the time.

NZ has got base of very good player at the moment. Ryder, Guptill, McCullum, Taylor, Elliot and Broom are all young and I can see this side being real handful with the return of Bond back to bowling lineup.

Indeed. New Zealand cricket seems to have hit a real purple patch. I don't think we have had this sort of talent come through since the late 90's. Add in players like Southee, Boult, Wagner and McClenaghan and NZ has a real solid base of players coming through.

Plus guys like Williamson, Raval, Worker and Kitchen we have a real solid looking up and coming team.

Any upcoming spinner except Vettori or Patel?

Nick Beard a young left arm spinner from Otago, he only just turned 20. And Tarun Nethula from Auckland who just played his first season of first-class cricket. Plus he is a leg-spinner so that is very exciting.

Both players are in the NZ emerging team so you could see them play your mob later on.

I agree. They have got some really talented youngsters in the team. Guptill, Ryder, and Taylor look to be in great touch. Elliot is also a good prospect. And Bond is coming back! Which will just make this side more dangerous! They have a pretty balanced team IMO, and can murder any opposition anyday. The only drawback is that these young bloods are a bit inexperienced.

I haven't seen Ryder play all that much, but I have heard alot about him and I know he's great.

But I also know that whenever Australia play New Zealand, we seem to always crap ourselves over Ross Taylor and how he might steal the game from us.

Guptill is also really good.

Plus Butler, Mills, Vettori and Bond give you a formidable attack.

looking to past series Styris bats more better these guys.:D

What? Another thread opened by bcvstheworld about NZ Cricket..?

Ross Taylor.

Taylor is probably the most complete batsman we have right now. Just needs to learn to hit over the off side somtimes when he wants to slog.

For God's sake. Just make a New Zealand thread buddy and post all your pointless NZ related questions there...

Taylor has more experience and i think hes a class player - but Ryder has as much if not more raw talent - if he shapes the way Taylor has over the next couple of seasons i think we will have two genuine world class batsmen and Guptill could make it 3 - our nos 3 4 5 look very good over the next 10 years. Now we just need two decent openers for tests.

Guptill will open in test matches, I don't know how good he will go though. Williamson, Taylor and Ryder will hopefully make up our middle order for 10 years.
