Wii - Best games?

Hi

Just taken the plunge and got hold of a Nintendo Wii from Argos.

Not sure what games I should be getting though..got Wii Sports obviously and Mario Galaxy.

Anything else I should be after? Tempted to get Mario Football..is it any good?

I dont have one but my friends do and a few good games are
- NFL
- Sonic and Mario at the Olympics

I have just got Tiger woods 08 on it, bloody stunning, very realistic, however, very sensitive, as you hit that ball you have to have you WII remote straight, some times it is not.

And also, there is a very, very sarcastic commentator, who when you hit towards the bunker says "Better get you're shovel and spade because this is going to be a sandly landing" etc, that can get very annoying.

Apart from that I would definatley say Tiger Woods 08!

Lol, theres been 3 decent games out since the launch of the wii. You got Zelda and Wii Sports on launch, and since then only Super Paper Mario, Metroid and Mario Galaxy have been worth buying. Glad i didnt keep my wii, complete waste of money atm, might be worth having one when Smash Bros and Mario Kart come out though. 5 games worth owning in a whole year is a pretty bad show by Nintendo, the fact that there are still shortages amazes me aswell, they could easily have made enough if they got their finger out. Damn Nintendo.

Something new, that loses its appeal after 5 minutes. I had one for 4 weeks, realised there was nothing decent in the pipeline for months and sold it. Not regretted it one bit, its a good console for week or two, but once the limited catalogue of games is used up its a pretty average console. The controller is decent enough, and it all works smoothly enough, but its just not got the support to be a top console for a proper gamer. It'll stay as a console for the casual gamers, with its mountain of party games and gimmicky nintendo titles that begin with "wii". It's not a console with any longevity. Once the gimmick wears off, you realise that its much easier to play with a proper controller, and the Wiimote becomes more of a chore to use. I wont be buying another Wii until the game catalogue is much improved.

You wait till a cricket game comes out and we can bat all day! Kev and puddleduck were hinting at it anyway I don't know if there actually will be one they never told us. I only have a wii in Portgual so shortages weren't a problem!

Yeah the Wii is a very casual console, not a proper gaming console, I suppose it is a matter of opinion, some people like this casual approach, others don't. There is no console which everyone will prefer, all of them will appeal to different people.

i wouldnt call metroid, zelda, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles or mario galaxy casual, but then again im a nintendo boy, had every console from nes to the Wii as i truly love zelda.

best games on the Wii are

-Zelda
-Mario
-Paper Mario
-Metriod Prime
-Res Evil 4 (great on any console really, one of the greatest games ever made)
-Mario Strikers charged (fantastic on 2 player)
-Heatseeker
-Madden 08 (better than NFL games on any other console by a mile)
-Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
-Prince of persia
-Tiger Woods 08
-Eldees (i truly LOVE this game)
-Fifa 08 (not quite as good as the xbox version but still a good game)
-Mario and Sonic at the Olympics
-Guitar Hero
-Endless Ocean
-Wii play

they are the best games availble at the moment, the games in bold are the must have games IMO and the rest are great if you like those types of games

-Super smash bros
-Battalion Wars
-NiGHTS (YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
