Windows 7

Vista annoys the hell out of me. Every few seconds "Are you sure you want to do this?" Of course I want to bloody do it if I clicked on it! Also when I close the msn window, I get a message saying "MSN is still running." I'm not stupid, I know it is. So yeah, that's my two pence.
1) I really wonder what you are doing on your PC if you get that window every few seconds. Besides, there's a way to disable it, but don't come back and complain if you get affected by a virus or something.

2) "MSN is still running" is a message that comes up in XP as well. It is part of the MSN software, not the operating system.

Lucky you, you have got to be in the minority, going by what I've heard.

God I hate ignorant ****s when it comes to Vista. "Going by what I've heard." Has to be the most ignorant line ever said. Try it for yourself, Ive used Vista since Beta. The OS Is fantastic, And im enjoying watching it evolve.

Vista is propelling faster then XP, by a long shot. And it's already very secure. It's still early stages, and me being able to say that every piece of software and game that I have attempted to run has worked. Sometimes it takes a bit of effort, but it's a completely new OS. Like trying to get a PS1 game on a PS3, takes a bit of effort.

If your clueless enough to not understand how to turn UAC off, then you don't deserve the ability to complain about it's functionality.

Windows Seven was in the works parallel with Vista (though it started as a single OS). After about 2 years it split into Vista and Windows 7 due to the pressure of releasing an OS quickly. Some (important) functionality which was incomplete was stripped and they released Vista. There was supposed to be a (revolutionary) feature which was to be included in this new OS and Vista, but due to lack of time they dropped it in Vista and looks like they are dropping it in win7 too!

Windows 7 will have better security, a different taskbar from XP/Vista and a uniformaty in all the accessories (all will use the ribbon interface). The explorer too will change considerably since Windows 98.

I have Vista. Yeah I don't know what the hell a UAC is, so what?

Obviously I want to be on the PC, it's just that these pop up things annoy me. The MSN is still running message doesn't come up on my PC with XP.

Well for one I don't see the revolutionary features stripped from Vista in Windows 7. WinFS, for example, the new file system which was supposed to change things for good, isn't there.

There are many other things as well. The basic thing is, most people that DO complain are related to drivers, and they still use the same driver model in Windows 7 anyways...

Windows 7 is just a massive service pack that should make Vista even better. I am surprised Microsoft have made vista so much better in less than a year. SP1 is so much better than all of Microsofts other OS's at sp1. (I still hate vista)

Hope microsoft solve the memory problem (60%) of 1GB ram used on idle.

MacWorld added 1 Minutes and 17 Seconds later...

MB 79 i have no idea. I guess the lowest pack will retail at £79.99 and the highest at £169.99,

That's not a problem. That is what the OS requires, and I guess you're running it in its full state. At Sp1, switching off Indexer, and superfetch and using Home Basic theme, I had just 48% memory usage at idle.

well you know what i mean, create a OS which does not require 2Gb of ram when most PC's have 1GB. talking about 2006/7

For yor information,UAC(User Account Control) is a security feature of Vista and if you don't know how to use it you have no right to complain about it.

Probably wasn't the case in the States when Vista was launched and certainly isn't the case now. I built a system in the early days of vista and had 2gig, now running with 4gig (The original 2gig is on the shelf as its too slow now). Memory is cheap as chips at the moment I for one wouldnt have tried running vista with 1gig anyway. It is a bit wasteful, to require that much memory, but then if you want flashing bells and whistles on an operating system you have to accept it I guess.

Of course I have a right to complain. You have no right to talk! No one on this forum knows you. I'm not some kind of hi-tech computer person, so from a normal computer users point of view, Vista is annoying so shut the hell up.

Actually Mani, I wouldn't agree fully with him but I understand his drift.

When there is less security in an OS, people complain. When they put some people complain more. I guess I don't know what do they want...

But you can understand my "drift" aswell though right?
