Story World XI vs West Indies 20/20 International

I have taken those opinions on board, and I agree it's an interesting idea. If we can get 3 people, there will be a 3 man board of selectors to pick the teams for the series against the Windies. Currently, the tour schedule is looking like this. I have put which selector picks the team for each match next to the game.

- West Indies vs World XI Reserves (50 overs) - Selector 1
- West Indies vs World XI Reserves (5 day) - Selector 2
- West Indies vs World XI (20/20) - Selector 3
- West Indies vs World XI (1st ODI) - Selector 1
- West Indies vs World XI (2nd ODI) - Selector 2
- West Indies vs World XI (3rd ODI) - Selector 3
- West Indies vs World XI (4th ODI) - Selector 1
- West Indies vs World XI (5th ODI) - Selector 2
- West Indies vs World XI (1st Test) - Selector 3
- West Indies vs World XI (2nd Test) - Selector 1
- West Indies vs World XI (3rd Test) - Selector 2

So the 3 man selection board has to pick 2 squads of 16- the World XI, and the World XI reserves. After the 20/20 game, the selectors can swap players from the reserves into the final World XI, should they wish. For each game, 1 selector picks the actual match day team.

OK, great, the 3 selectors are:
- Feelin Blue?
- kookaburra69
- Pak_cricketer

I guess you guys can start discussing who will make the World XI squad of 16!! I would also like some feedback from you guys if you have any ideas on how this should work. The current idea is 2 squads of 16, the World XI and World XI reserves, although I'm open to changes and new ideas, regarding how the squads are selected, and the nature of the schedule.

Ok, just as its on the last page, here is the link to the 'top' players available for selection, although this doesn't cover all of the players obviously.

Those were just the players I selected as the most recognised. If you want any more players to be added to the list so you can see their abilities, just let me know and I will update it.

Cheers Mate.....
Anyhow i choose

Wicket Keeper- Adam Gilchrist

Bowlers - Steve Harmison - Glen McGrath - Shoaib Akhtar - A. Razzaq - Andrew Flintoff - Muralitharan

Batters - Tendulkar - Ponting (C) - Pietersen - Andrew Strauss - Dravid - Shewag - Ul-Haq - Kallis - Andy Flower.

Ok. i put 1 allrounder in the bowling list and 2 allrounders in the batting list.... That is my World XI 16 ;) :D

So I have 2 different teams there... should I face each selectors individual World XI, instead of just one squad of 16? I'm happy to do that. Interestingly, apart from Hayden and Pollock, all the players selected by Pak_cricketer make it into Feelin Blue?'s squad.

..... Well The Other Dude Hasn't selected Yet.......... :mad

you know how next to each fixture you put selctor 1 and selocter 2 and 3
- West Indies vs World XI Reserves (50 overs) - Selector 1
- West Indies vs World XI Reserves (5 day) - Selector 2
- West Indies vs World XI (20/20) - Selector 3
- West Indies vs World XI (1st ODI) - Selector 1

maybe we all selctor our own 16 and say im selector 1 use my 16 for the 50 over game but that says reserve X1...... maybe just choose a reserve team yourself?

Yeah, I get it, thats a good idea. I'm going to select the World XI Reseves myself. Then for each game against the real World XI, the selector responsible will choose the team. I will post the new schedule on a new post.

Basically, for each game, the selector picks any XI players they want, that are on the game (except West Indies players of course!). They select a batting order of 11 players, a 6 man bowling order, a wicket keeper, and of course a captain.

Squads of 16 are out of the window!! I will be picking the team for the World XI reserves shortly, that will show how to select the team for your games!!
