It was now May, Steph and I had decided to have an easy month. Well easyish. With the Zoo running extremely well under the staff we thought it might be best to slow it down a little bit. I on one hand wanted to start bringing in marine animals but Steph on the other hand complained that it would cost too much at this stage. So we agreed to take it easy. We were focused on getting two more exhibits built and ready for their animals inhabitants by the end of the month. Especially now that our builders were seasoned fence constructors, we were confident in the job getting done.

Whilst I was overseeing the fence getting put up for the first exhibit, I could hear alot of people around me murmuring but couldn't make out what they were saying. That was soon silenced when Abhishek called out, "Maggie's just given birth to two pups. A boy and a girl." The workers immediately stopped what they were doing and raced over to see. It took me a while to calculate what they were doing and once I'd realised, I raced after them. I had to push my way through the crowd until I saw them. They were so cute. Maggie was being a little too precautious though not letting them out of her sight, even growling at Abhishek a couple of times.

Just as I started walking back to the unfinished exhibit, I got called back to the offices. What could have gone so wrong for ME to get called back there. Once I entered, I saw a bunch of people staring at me. With a confused look on my face I had to ask what was going on. No one answered. Then out of nowhere Steph appeared and screamed "Happy Birthday". Oh yeah I had completely forgotten. With other things on my mind, I took it as another day. After all the well wishes, hugs and handshakes, I turned to walk away when the sound of a woman's voice halted me. I recognised the voice. it was unmistakable who it was. As I turned to look at her a smile appeared on my face. We stared at each other for a few seconds before she started to approach me. Slowly at first then it turned into a slow run. She tripped and I just managed to catch her before she hit the ground. I saw her blush in her embarrassment as she tried to look away. "Renee are you ok. That could've ended disastrous"

Before I could say anymore, she silenced me with a kiss. I could see Steph watching us from the corner of my eye so stuck my finger up at her. Such a lovely brother I am. Once we had finally broken the kiss, I took her hand in mine and gestured her out the door. We started heading towards the first exhibit under construction which Steph only just told me was for the Aardvarks, and that she has already hired Aditya for the Zookeeping job. Apparently the exhibit was nearly done and it was just about ready for the Aardvark inhabitants.

Great I thought, I'll head the other way to get the second exhibit started. Until, Renee tugged at my hand and pointed in the direction of a mob of people. They looked to be surrounding the Meerkat enclosure. I rushed down with Renee in tow. Forcing my way through the crowd to see what was going on. And there before my eyes were two female Meerkat pups. They were so small, you could only just barely see them in the burrow. Covvy was jsut estatic, not only were they his favourite animals but to have more of them under his care. You could see he just wanted to jump around screaming "YES". And to top off this amazing feat Aidan rushes down to say that his buffalo was pregnant. God we are just sprouting babies everywhere.

Finally we could get started on the second enclosure. Renee and I headed down to the site I'd picked out. On our way down we saw Jono with a brush and a chisel. Just like High School all over again. But I wasn't going to fire him, I was encouraging it. If he could find anything our zoo would become more popular. We would be able to show it off to the world. Anyway enough rambling about money and popularity, I was with the most beautiful woman in the world and i wasn't going to waste it talking about money. We helped out with the second exhibit for a little bit doing what we could, where we could. Now with the workload getting a little too heavy for Bigg E, I hired a second Maintainence worker named Joe Hall to help out. Smaet thinking on my part don't ya reckon.

So whilst the exhibit was underway, which was now ahead of schedule thanks to mine and Renee's help, Steph and I were scouting the Zoo. We looked like we fitted in with general public. Every now and then Renee would pop in and see how every thing was going. And to see me of course. We were seeing alot more of each other especially in her line of work. It was part of her job so she used that time to spend more time with me even though she was meant to be working. Typical that.

So now with May just about of the way and our Jaguars coming in. That's right I said Jaguars. I almost had to beg User to do double duties as we didn't have anyone else plus it was next to his Fennec Fox enclosure. Fortunately he agreed as he didn't need to worry about Todd as much since he was getting older and more capable. June was looking to be a very quite month in terms of development. Most of the construction workers would be on their mid year holidays so we won't be able to do much. In a way that actually might be a good thing. We can finally start to see some numbers hopefully.

It was now June and we barely had any workers, to plan for anything to get done. So we deicded that we'd take a month off from development. Now that I had all this spare time on my hands, I wasn't sure what to do with it. I decieded I would call Renee, see if she wanted to spend a few days at my place, to wind down so to speak. Wink Wink. She unfortunatley had to decline due to a conservation issue at the Zoo down in Melbourne. So she wouldn't be available for a couple of days or so. With that slight disappointment, I thought I might try and see if Steph would hang out with me. She was too busy with her son and husband to even cosnider spending family time with her brother. So with nothing else to do I decided it was best if I just went back to the zoo.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Jono. Confounded by the greeting, he finally told me that Steph had asked him to find me something to do. "This should be good", I thought. He handed me a funny looking gun. Puzzled I looked back at him before he said "it's to find fossils moron". Oh. So I would be spending some time looking for fossils. Oh great, I couldn't think of anything worse. Still I had nothing better to do, so why not. It actually wasn't half bad. I got excited every time the gun beeped once it was near something. It was amazing once I'd actually found something. However, the first few times found me digging up all kinds of shirts. Which we managed to sell for a very tiny profit. Then I started to get lucky. I was finding fossils from four different extinct creatures. I was hooked, with the more I the more I wanted to keep looking. I'd spent about a week doing it and thought I should probably check on the rest of the zoo.

All in the meanwhile, Aditya put up post it notes all around my office, Obviously trying to tell me that his female Aardvark was preganant. I think I would have understand if he just left me one post it not on my desk. Or perhaps he could've done the smart thing and just called me. I thought nothing of it as I'm assuming he was just excited. I mean who wouldn't be. With nothing else really happening, I decided to take a few days off and hopefully not spend them alone. Trying my luck again, hoping to gain successful, I called Renee with same question I'd asked a week earlier. This time she was free. We could now spend normal time as a couple.

I didn't expect the peace from work to last. I had received a call from Covvy telling me not to worry about coming in, just that he was letting me know that Darling had also given birth to two little Meerkats pups. A boy and a girl. That was great news and it was good to see the Meerkats doing so well with each other, literally. Then it wasn't long before I had received a message from User telling me his jaguar was pregnant. That would mean every animal in our zoo was either pregnant or had already had babies.

Coming back from a very, very relaxing few days off I felt refreshed and ready to do something useful. Within minutes of walking in the zoo's gates, Jono called me to the Research Lab. Upon walking in, I could hear strange noises. I wasn't sure whether there was something in there or if it was Jono making those noises. Hestitantly I walked into the labs to see some kind of prehistoric bird or dinosaur. Jono called it a Protarchaeopteryx. I made him write that down because there was no way in hell I could pronounce that. We couldn't leave it in there so I had to get whatever guys I had to build a small enclosure for it. Thus having to spend unnecessary funds. It didn't take long for the enclosure to be put up and we managed to get the bird thing in the exhibit no problems. All in all such a boring month. Surely Steph could allow me to spend the necessary funds in July to bring in some endangered species. We'll see.
