Mohammad Asif tests positive for illegal drug

It is indeed Asif.

Cricinfo said:
Mohammad Asif has been confirmed as the player who tested positive for a banned substance during the Indian Premier League, the IPL has announced.

Asif, who was detained in Dubai for possession of contraband drugs last month, will now have the right to request that his 'B' sample [supplied at the same time as the one that tested positive] be sent for analysis, which he and his representative can attend along with an IPL representative.

Yep, breaking news on Sky Sports News too.

Ridiculous, how stupid is he? Ban the cheat, and make it for a long, long time. Thats three occasions now, and he keeps getting away with it.

I can see this becoming another farce. The IPL won't be able to suspend him from playing for Pakistan.

I'm laughing in pain. He is clearly an idiot, it's a complete farce until the day he is banned. Though I have no doubt he will somehow get away with it. It might get to the point where countries would deny him a visa.

It really is unbelievable.

I think Asif will probably get a life-ban.He has tested positive before this too. Also, his recent record will not go down well with the PCB.

If the PCB ban him, its only going to be a matter of time before some stupid judge or tribunal overturns the decision.

So really its up to the ICC to ban the cheat, for life. What a waste of quality talent!:noway

Ban him. Now. May he rot in hell for the disgrace he has brought upon our country.

On a slightly different note, the PCB has announced that they will not back Mohammad Asif.

Lmao. I knew it'd be him! Dirty little sted head. I've been saying it for God knows how long and finally people can see what a little bell end he is.

Let's not throw the book at him yet until the B sample comes back positive.

I am going to admit a few things here.

Mohammad Asif in my mind when he came onto the scene in 2005/06 could have put Pakistan on the road to win many tournaments. He was a promising young bowler who could take Pakistan cricket to great heights.

I do not think that Mohammad Asif is necessarily a bad person, but rather, he is just ignorant and stupid. This will not be his 3rd offence as the Dubai International Airport case and this one will probably be merged into one.

In my view, Mohammad Asif should be banned from every Organized form of cricket there is. You can't really stop him from playing in his backyard, but I speak about banning him for 5 years at the club, first-class, and international levels.

He needs to go through a rehabilitation program at his own expenses for the next 5 years, and if he is capable of keeping himself fit for 5 years and is capable of bowling well enough to bring himself into the XI only then, should he come back into the team.

The other point to bring up is that all centrally contracted players should be required to undergo a drug test every month or 2 months.

lol, actually I've got nothing to say anymore, I wish drewska was here!!

My God.

Bust.

PCB? yah!

LOL! Sorry Pakistani members for any offence I may cause, but I had a very strong hunch it was a Pakistani fast bowler.
