2012 might be bad for us after all...

I heard Sarah Palin was planning on running in 2012 too. Or even worse yet, that new "Tea Party" O'Donnell Lady from Delaware.

The more we develop our technology, the nearer is our end.

Which Uni do you teach at professor?

He and I are classmates. :D

Which invention do you mean - the Large Hadron Collider that they're making black holes with?

I guess he is talking more generally, about the day-to-day inventions they're inventing to actually have more advancement in technology. Yesterday, I heard that Russia is building some large ice-breaker with which they plan to harness nuclear energy from the Arctic ice. When we will understand that it is too much tampering with nature. Atleast, we should let some of the remaining natural things, just natural?

I'm sure governments and space agencies around the world will be able to chalk out a solution by the time the storm takes place. It might trigger a temporary blackout throughout the globe, which it probably will, but at the same time, I have faith in Science to come up with something to check the damage done to our satellites and communication networks as far as possible.

It's easy to say that, but considering the way earth's population is exploding and the way energy demands are going up everywhere owing to urbanization and industrialization, I don't think we are left with an alternative but to search for more and more natural resources which would yield energy.

I look forward to the partying the night before this is due to happen.

An average nights out resembles the apocolypse anyway.

But according to the report I read, it would only lead to more of global warming.

Varun all that you think is going to happen will not for at least 150-300 years. There are more than enough natural resources and land for our lifetimes .

Its the great grandchildren who are screwed

Suckers. It'll all come crashing down one day but why sit around dwelling on it?

We won't have an apocalypse or a catastrophe I suppose. It'll just that our satellites will malfunction, communation and electricity would be hampered, and everything would be in a state of chaos.

I could live with no electricity for a little while, as long as it wouldn't be for too long.

You think that, but we definitely couldn't.

I've always thought the apocalypse is a load of it but tbh I don't really care as the activities the night before would be worth it :p

Just a question: Should we be certain that the 'world would end' when I'm about 40 would it be unethical for me to have kids before that when I know they'll die in a number of years and have to put up with the knowledge of that?

Live your life. Everybody has to die one day. Why not feel the happiness of having kids even though they might die soon if the so-called apocalypse comes? This thing is never completely set in stone (that of the apocalypse coming). What if it doesnt come at all? You will live the rest of your life waiting for it and not have kids?

Ha ha ha... do you believe? it is gibberish!!! do you remember 'error 2000' ? and so what? no... it is just new system of larceny!
You are afraid and you start to build a refuge

The end is so near yet we still don't have decent cricket games
