Bring it on, we will show you in the ODI series!

Certainly Shreyas, I also cant wait for ODI series, though many key players will not play, but that doesnt matter :)

If you notcied here, we're talking aboutthe present, not the future, not the past - its whats happened just now what is important

well then we could say that india beat england last year 5-1 in the ODI series, but lost 4-3 this year, you dont hear any indian fans still boasting about that anymore do you now? - becuase its in the past!!!

Its not ur business, what i am  a raitor or a patriot  i am an indian, that doesnt mean i will support india .

Well yes, it does. If you don't feel patriotic enough to care about your countries national sports teams but support teams of countries you have never been to/never will go to then your definitley mixed up.

That doesn't take anything this victory. Stop posting rubbish like "India didn't win the World Cup" and "Twenty20 is crap" just because "your" team didn't make it to the finals.
I feel that there is no need to agrue further on which team WORLD_CHAMPIONS supports. If you have a problem with it then settle it outside the forums.

i told it before, no matter whether We win 20/20 or not, i hardly care ;) its 50 overs match which matters :)

Yes, and I have 30 family members in Canberra and have more family in the West Indies, doesn't mean I should support those countries? My family who live and were born in those countries should not me, otherwise I'd be disgracing the patriotism they have for their country.

Yeah thanks for the advice - once again Chak De India!! and well played Pakistan! :clap

WOW !! what a match.....it can be labelled as the best of ALL the world cup
finals and it going till the last over made it even exciting....

our area showed the match in a projector in which loads of people were watching the match in the middle of the street...:D..and as it isnt been broadcasted in the local cable...everyone was present there....! everyone went crazy even for a dot ball..and after the final catch...all hell broke loose...tons of firecrackers, people going crazy...and young dudes like us were roaming around the city riding bikes at high speeds holding the indian
flag....felt really proud to be an indian...
even the police didnt have a problem and some of them actually even
joined us :p

now, if you dont believe this, you can ask HP_FAN if you want ;)

also, good to see shahrukh khan lending support to the team :D

but all said, lot of credit goes to the pakistanis as well for making this
match so exciting and restricting india to 157 !
everyone played their heart out....!
WTF was afridi thinking !!! is he arrogant or overconfident or what ???

LAST BUT NOT LEAST - CHAK DE INDIA !!!

Great Final !
Well Done India !!!
Well done to Pakistan as well for putting up a brave show.
You`ve got to feel for Misbah and the Pakistan side, also the fans. It was a sort of the game which either side deserved to win.

What this also shows is how important India and Pakistan are for the ICC tournaments.
They almost guarantee full crowds for most matches which was lacking in the Carribean WC.
When India and Pakistan were knocked out in round 1 of the WC 2007, many members on this forum said that it would not make much of a diference to the tournament and that the minnows making it to the second round would make it more of a success.
It did not work out that way and this tournament just proves the value of the 2 sides in the big tournaments.

World Cricket should be happy as welll that we finally have a tournament which the Aussies haven`t won ! :-)

@ WC, will you just stop coming with all excuses which are neither going to change the fact, " India is ICC TT World Champions " nor going to erase this tournament from records. We came to this big tournament after an disappointing big WC2007 and as Dhoni said, its really worth to party now.

In 2003, it was a complete different story and now, its another different story. Before Aussies won the WCup title, India have grabbed it in 1983. Each world cup have a different story like SL outsmarted Aussies in 1996, Aussies were lucky enough in 99 as the trophy was supposed to go for SA, Aussies dominated in 2003 WCup, some poor umpirings-sad happenings-long format affected each and every team and was looking like a strange WCup in 07 ever had and so on...

Each WCup has its own story and you just can't moan with the same story. Cricket is a cricket is a cricket is a cricket.. whatever the format it may be!

And btw, i like what Afridi/Malik said too.. " Whether its a win/loss, we gave more than 100% ". Both the teams were up to their best today and definitely this cracking final will stay up in hearts of billion and billions of people.

And also, my half a day holiday to office has been a real worth too :D

As far as I know; India just won the equivalent of the ICC Champions Trophy not the equivalent of the ICC World Cup.

Where did you get that information from ?
I was looking for a source but could`nt find one.
The ICC President in his speech said that the next edition of this tournament will be held in England in 2009.
