Semifinals and Final

I guess Malik's comment on Muslims living in the world is going to create a big furore in the coming days (its already started in some message boards). Probably will end with an apology rendered by Malik.

Yeah he may have gone a bit overboard due to it being Ramadan and all.

I don't understand the problem. Just another excuse for a bunch of morons to have a whinge. Get over it. Who cares?

Well done India. I like India as a side more then Pakistan so in a way i'm glad. Pakistan got into a position to win and failed, so India fully deserved it for being the better side and bowling too good for them at the end.

Anyway, India are Twenty Twenty World Champions, not World Cup holders. So I guess its similar to winning the ICC Champions Trophy in ODIs. Good match by Pakistan, they played really well as well, but there had to be a winner. I was kind of rooting for another bowl out though.

Yeah, but the ICC havent announced a seperate 20-20 World Championship and a 20-20 World Cup. They say that the next edition of this World Twenty20 will be held in England in 2009 with nothing else in the horizon.

Also, I've realized that I find Harsha Bhogle's commentary extremely annoying. He's scatterbrain and talks about completely different things in following sentences. He never has anything to say that is in-depth and always goes to the extreme when praising people or teams.

In fact, I liked Harsha Bhogle. I used to like him before, and was happy when I knew I would be hearing him back again. He laces his comments with some good humor (sometimes could sound stupid!).

Well done India. I thought Pakistan would've bagged it but meh.

Australia are ranked #1 in the World in Test Matches & that's better then winning the Twenty20 & 50over World Cup put together. :D

THIS IS INDIA'S TIME.....i think India won the match by LUCK b/c Misbah-ul-haq never failed in the scooped shot.....he played a very gud innings....i want him to be MOTT......

Not sure about man of the match, cricketer 2004, but misbah ul haq should be tested in the 50 overs version. I think he is an excellent batsmen. I enjoyed watching both pakistan and india. They undoubtedly played the most exciting cricket. Though i feel South Africa were the third best to watch. Meh. I'm a bit of skeptical of Dhoni's captaincy for the longer format, test matches. Not quite ready i believe. As for the indian trinity, what is the indian fans verdict on them in ODI. Drop ehm or keep 1 or 2 or all.

Great final by the way. Gotta luv india vs pakistan. Australia vs New Zealand are always entertaining as well. Shame England cant give Aus a run for their money.

EDIT: Also, im against twenty20 being a full tour like 5-7 games. Maximium of 2-3. It should be a supplement for ODI cricket. I think it works best as a crowd attraction and is the best format for spreading the game into non-cricketing nations. If cricket ever attracts US attention then this the best bet. Its a faster pace then baseball.

They are. But whether they are still the best or will be the best after this season, who knows. We'll see how they'll fare without a lot of their stars particularly in the tests.

Australia didn't win for once. Boo hoo.

India won !
I'm happy bout that.
We must also not forget that Pakistan was as capable a team as India and showed it in the final overs. To me Misbah should have won the Player of the Tournament.
This tournament will always be remembered as the First ever T20 World Cup/Championship,but it still does not take anything away from the 2 finalists.

Another thriller, Pakistan really should have got home from 6 runs from 4 balls.
Congrats to India they peaked at the right time and beat Pakistan twice in one tournament which should have the fans jumping for joy.

india cant drop all these players now.

Defintely not, but they cannot repalce Tendular,Ganguly, Dravid and Zaheer ;) though i think players like Yousuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma and Joginder Sharma will be given chance in the upcoming ODI series against Australia.

yeah the best thing i think is squad rotation. 7 we aus and i think 5 we pak. i am sure they can rotate.

who was the little kid on the field. was it shahrukh khans son

Especially Rohit Sharma, he seems to be a competant batsman with a very fine orthodox technique. He is able to score quickly too.
