@ Haarithan - why dont you start a story on England where they continue to dominate World Cricket at home conditions for next 100 years. All the top 10 batsman, bowler in all format rankings being England top team being England in all formats?
What he (Haarithan) said was absolutely right

When you write a story set in the future, unless stated otherwise, the past is assumed to be the same as the real-life one we all know and love. Thus there is no way India could be anywhere near England's T20I ranking by the time this tournament starts, and so England are favourites to top their group with daylight second.

It was just a brief comment from Haari. Pathetic of you to make a big thing of it. If you can't handle reality, see a shrink or find some other coping mechanism.

I get the fact that England are the number one T20 side in the world. But this World Cup is played in the sub-continent conditions and overall the Indians are way better than England in the sub-continent.

And afterall this is just story... :/

Good luck, Shan! Good to see you back in this section. :)

England having just beat India in a T20 encounter in the subcontinent would suggest otherwise. Fact.

Anyway good luck with your story, eagerly waiting for the matches to commence. :)

Group D Preview

Group D is an interesting group, featuring two of the enigmatic teams and another team trying to prove their dominance in this format of the game. It is the group containing Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. If things go according to plans Pakistan and Bangladesh should qualify for the Super 8's. Nevertheless with three teams capable of defeating each other on a given day, it promises to be one of the interesting groups.

Game of the Group

Now this is a tough one with Bangladesh vs either team being a big game, especially after The Tigers beating many big teams in past few major tournaments. But the game between Pakistan and New Zealand has to be the game of the group, as mostly the winner of the game will win the group.

Predicted Group Standings

Pakistan 1st - 6 points
New Zealand 2nd - 3 points
Bangladesh 3rd - 0 points

Nice start there, Shan. Cool presentation with good writeup. I can see this go a long way. GL!:thumbs

I think Suranga Lakmal shouldn't be in T20 Squad

How about a Sri Lankan story running parallel to the England one?
