Did you manage to stay awake for the whole match?

What a crazy match for McKay to make his debut. This has to be one of the weakest Aussie bowling attacks in a long time, no wonder Tendulkar almost chased down 350!
Edited for the truth.

haha too true mate, just needed 175 runs from the other 10 guys.

Bittersweet innings, as well as he played, his team let him down even more.

Sachin had come close to that thrice in his career , 186*, 160*( not sure about exact score, he got retired hurt against recent NZ series), and yesterday;s 175

The way Tendulkar was going he definitely looked capable. He has the perfect mix of aggression and value for his wicket.

Watson looks to be our best hope as long as he continues with the way he played else Ponting looks the only one capable for us.

It dont really matter if you getting 200 or 100 or 50!!!
All it matters is Have you got your team to victory???????

Even now I remember Ricky commenting about Lara's 400, while the whole cricketing world was going crazy about that , ricky said that no one will probably will or want to break that record because if you score that much runs your team obviously wont win the match it will certainly be a draw!!!!

A player who gets that many runs is going to end up on the winning side 9 times out of 10. Its not like a player is going to slug it out in the middle, batting slowly to reach that landmark of 200. In tests, you could say that. But in ODI's, there is no draw and if you score slowly, you will be blamed.

Also a match winner is not always someone who stays in there when the winning runs are scored. A match winner is judged by the contribution that he has done to his team in victories.

And how many times has a player got a score between 300 and 400 and won the match? Brian took so long to get it, very selfish. Even his 375 took too long. Hayden's 380 was much quicker. I would say much less than 9 times out of 10 the big score results in a victory, in fact if you looked at say the top 15 highest scores only about 3 or 4 are in a win.

In ODI's, obviously a bigger score is most likely going to win the game. However, Ponting/Robin Smith/Sachin all failed to win the games they scored over 160+ in.

Gilly - No
Hayden - No
Chris Gayle - Still able
Brendon McCullum - Don't hold your breath
Sehwag - Possible
Tendulkar - Deserved
Ponting - Most likely

Phillip Hughes - Only a matter of time xD

Not to mention he'll score 500 in an innings in a test - which we will win thanks to his late second innings last day heroics of 6/13 off 8 overs.

This is right. These records are purely for the individual's credit and to display the talent and stamina he holds as a cricketer. Cricket is not an individual game, but individuals make a team.
