England Collasped to a terribel 72 all out at the hand sof manily Gillepsie and Tait. the two bolwers took four wickets each adn not oen English bastmen looked settled against them. England started badly losign 3 wicket sbefore lunch but continued afterwards losign wickets regularly. Jones looked to push forward England ebfroe he edged one to slip and made England face the ineviatbel follow on. England now need some big runs with so long left in the game.

England have started their secodn inninsg in a completely different way with them attackign rather than lettign South Australai dictate the pace of the game. Trescothick has looked in better touch smahsign to fours over the in field. On the other hadn Strauss has looked watchful but sturdy.

D.Gower- Not a long session but from it it showed Engladn were determidn to make changes. Trescothick and Strauss will idealy make a hueg contribution from here.

South Australia's hoep of reapeating their first innings bowlign feat was dismissed when engaldn posted a 100 partnership at the top of the order. Head by Trescothick and Strauss these two threatened frequently. England eventually finished 137-1 with Strauss reachign 50 and cook on 27. for South Australia there has been little to talk abotu despite soem close edges and LBW appeals.

D.Gower- From this posistion England could set a reasonabel target fro South Australai to chase on the last day, but at the moment collectign those trailign rusn is key.
M.Trescothick- Think i batted ver well but again didnt reahc a milestoen adn woudl ahve liekd ot have been there at th eclose of play. Just hoep we can post a big score.

A.Strauss- We just want to get soem rusn ahead and then focus on how many we want althoguh if things go wrogn that might be out of our hands.

England made further setps forward despiet losign key wickets of Strauss, Cook, Bell and Collingwood. Pietersen has looked sturdy but England have a lot of work still to do and 400 is a must to keep themselves in the game. South Australia however are lookign tired and this coudl enable England to capitalise.

England fell to a shcoking 305 all out with the top score being allistar cook (67) England now have 93 rusn to play with adn to try and get soemthign otu fo this match but at the moment England look liek facign they're first defeat of the Ashes Campaign to the South Australian Sate team. G.Blewett starred for the South Australians with his 5 for 100 at 4 rusn per over however he was obviously well supporetd by the bowlign of Cullen and Rofe.

England suffered their first defeat of their ashes campaign after a 7 wicket defeat by South Australia. Set the total of 93 to win the South Australians took an early blwo losign a wicket for just nine runs. However a 50 partership for the 2nd wicket ensure victory but Harmison showed his worth by taking 2 wickets one of the in form Lehmann.

D.Gower- An unlikely victory many would have thought but a well poised South Australian team managed to win by 7 wickets. England had oen bad innings and overall bowled well but beign dismissed for a mere 73 almost certainyl lost them the game. However the greta battign from Man of the match, lehmann was another defing element.

D.Lehmann- I knew when i went in we needed a big innings from soem one and i was lukily enough to be that one. I felt in good touch but the declaration was important and we ddi it at the right tiem givng us plenty of tiem at England.

A.Strauss- Wasn't our best performance but we had soem positives. Panesar hsi showing his wealth as a spinner and has taken 8 wickets already. But we still need to sort out this battign we cant go from 600 odd to 73 and the space of a coupel of days. The guys know this and they will defintely sort it out.

South Australia 286-9 Dec.

England 73

Engladn 305 Following on

South Australia 96-3

South Australia win by 7 wickets

England head to Melbourne and the MCG for their 3rd warm up game fo this grueling Tour. England, defeated in the 2nd game will look to bounce back and will be hopeful of a nice wicket. M.Vaughan returns along with Flintoff but Bell misses out after suffering from a bug the previous night and cook also has to make way. The wicket looks fantastic and Vaughan will be delighted to have won the toss. Now the batsmen have a chance to shine and put some bigs runs on the board and gain some valuable confidence.

D.Gower- England, after a defeat in their previous game will look to bounce back with some big runs on this placid MCG pitch, hopefully we will have a repeat fo the opening tour game of 600+
