Folks are complaining it doesnt have everything.. imagine a stats engine that can generate stats like cricinfo? yes please!
In tournament mode, the stats are seperate for league and play offs. Ideally should be together. Man of the series award wouldn't be a bad option to include either. Man of the match selection criteria seems to bit off as well.
I haven't played much of career mode so not sure if there is anything wrong there wrt stats.

I hope the fielding will be improved and the AI will not play all the good balls towards the leg side and against the spinners unless you are bowling wide outside off, they will play you leg side with those surplus wrists.
Fielding definitely needs a complete overhaul.
AI legside shots needs to be tone down. Seems like they are trying to imitate VVS, unless he has been mocapped. Even the hop shot to the off on bouncers seems unrealistic. Overall AI shot selection can be improved. Also don't see any advanced shots from AI since the last few patches.

Or just a new/working calculator :p. But what's wrong with the current Ashes' stats?
It doesnt even count any accumalated Stats for any Online Games , so my created Team still walks out with the same stats they started off with over a year ago.

The ultimate experience would be a VR mode with accurate physics. Hopefully by 2030.

For 2019 I would just like stats and fluid realistic animations.

The Ind v Aus test series that just finished got me back into playing DB17 and continuing my career. DB17 is still a pretty good game esp the career mode although the ability to get picked by your national side needs to be improved. I finished the Aust Shield cricket season as top scorer with multiple tons, avg of close to 90, etc...didn't even get a sniff from the Aust team. In this day and age, I'd be a shoe in for replacing Labuschagne (who bats after me in the QLD team).

Will be interesting to see Ashes 19 (assuming it comes out soon). Is there any official word?

Ross spoke about an upcoming Ashes sequel in a podcast a few weeks or so ago. Stated it would be the biggest step forward since DBC 14. Likely guess is it would release around the start of the Ashes series

With regards to sliders, one additional option I would like to see being included in the next game would be AI batting Aggressiveness (Determine the rate at which AI would try to score at).
Currently in Ashes17 I'm spending more time trying to make the AI play according to the match scenario rather than me actually enjoying playing the game. The addition of the above would cater to players who are looking for challenging matches as well as for those who are seeking realistic scores.

No no no no.

They need to be reducing the number of modifiers not adding more. Otherwise it will cease to be a game and just be a cricket sandbox to make your own version of a cricket game.

They should be looking at more creative ways to improve areas where the game is weak. In my opinion, sliders just seem like conceding that they can't get it right.

Agree. The ideal situation would be get it right without sliders. But if they can't, then there should be something for us to fall back on to. It's been frustrating with the current Ashes trying to get AI right according to formats. I'm constantly re-skilling players even at highest difficulty. Hope they can improve AI in the next and we don't have to bother with the sliders at all.

I'd like Aggression as a Batting Skill for each player. Like a mental skill. I think having skills for each shot is kind of pointless unless players are being scouted and skilled accordingly. I'd like to see them go back to the original Don Bradman game of having skills for back foot, front foot, flat bat, straight bat shot. Then boost that with some mental skills.

You could have Aggression for the different formats for each team. So you could set England in ODI, for example, as a Very Aggressive side.

Another thing I've thought could be interesting would be having par scores for each stadium. If there's a limitation in how AI teams approach things then it might at least provide some variety for different grounds if the AI are looking to score 300 at Edgbaston but 250 Eden Gardens. Add it as an option in the stadium creation and have it update for each player; so you par score is based on how good you are and my par score would be based on mine.

I guess rather than a par score for a stadium, could be better if it's tied into a pitch type.

The problem with player aggressiveness is that for example, player like Kohli can score at 200 strike rate in T20 and 50 in Tests. Not sure wether this dynamics can be represented in just one skill value.

The skilling for front foot/ back foot etc would be a nice addition. Especially would help when bowling, trying to identify the batsman's weakness.

When I've looked at getting mentalities for batsman based on real life strike rates in the majority of cases players have fairly consistent jumps across formats.
Kohli for example (57 first class, 93 list A) would be Balanced and Brute on my skilling. So he'd average out as Aggressive. The big thing is making this average out across games, which is probably where good stats that update would help. You don't want Kohli scoring at the same rate every game but have it average out across games.

The simple solution would be to have different mentalities for different formats. But something like an Adaptability skill for batting, could be better. I'd have as high for Kohli, because he's good at adapting to the situation. He can reign himself in or let loose depending on the circumstances. Other players are perhaps more limited, they struggle to play more aggressively or more conservatively.

I would suggest adding Spin/Fast/Swing to Batter skillset. It may determine how well the Batter can do against the different bowling.
This way the runs scored by batter can also be controlled, as a Spin specialist would score more off of spinners and less off of pacers and vice versa.

Also the opposition would have a fair chance to get the batter out. Knowing the batter's 'weak shot' isn't much help while bowling in my opinion.
