5 test matches isn't enough to be classed World Class.

Have you seen his preformances in those test matches?
Yes I agree that he cannot be labled as a proven world class bowler yet.
But if you've seen him bowl, (which you obviously havn't) then you know that he is a lethal bowler, he will soon be world class.

Trust me i wouldn't praise this guy so much if he wasnt actually that good,
Im Indian... :D

I've seen him bowl and he seems a good prospect, but he is far from being World Class; I would class Jimmy Anderson as better than Asif.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :hpraise :hpraise :hpraise :hpraise POST OF THE YEAR!!!!!!! :rtfl :rtfl :rtfl

man on man...i seriously cannot stop laughing. You have definitly not seen him bowl, thats all i can say bro.
You have to be the biggest mor*n I have ever come across

J. Anderson

Tests: Matches:13 Wkts:41 bbi:5/73 bbm:7/119 Ave:33.00 econ:3.65 sr:54.2
ODI's: Matches:50 Wkts:7 bbi:4/25 Ave:26.29 econ:4.82 sr:32.7

M. Asif

Tests: Matches:5 Wkts:25 bbi:6/44 bbm:11/71 Ave:19.99 econ:3.18 sr:37.7
ODI's: Matches:12 Wkts:11 bbi:3/30 Ave:34.7 econ:3.99 sr:52.18

The only thing in which Anderson has better stats than Asif is in some ODI categories, but the only reason for that is, that Asif played 2 or 3 of his 5 ODI's against India, when India were on a role, still asif was extremely economical, if it was Anderson playing against India im sure it would have been alot worse.

In tests....well i dont really have to say anything, Adif beats him hands down in everything. You cant even compare the two.
LOL im still laughing!!!

i wait for what you have to say my friend because there is no way in hell that Jimmy Anderson is better than Asif, or is a better prospect than Asif

Well you could start by posting the right stats :p
Anderson has 75 ODI wickets not 7 giving him a far better average and strike rate. As for tests neither have played enough games to make a fair comparison.

Thanks for the mature post, all I did was state that James Anderson is a better player than Mohammed Asif, which I still believe and I will always believe. I also think that Simon Jones is a better bowler too, but sadly, injury has taken away a huge chunk of his playing career. There is absolutley no need to call me a moron just because you disagree with my point of view; I disagree with your viewpoint, but I respect your opinion and I accept it, and i'm not going to resort to unnecessary name calling.

Your stats are inconclusive, they havn't played the same amount of Tests or ODI's so you can't compare them statistically. As for playing against India, Anderson was England's best bowler against India in the ODI's back in March this year. So not only has he played against India, he has also played well against India.

Oh and yes, I have seen him play, and he looks a good bowler but nothing special. James Anderson looks a far better prospect in my opinion.

Jimbo is better than Asif, James Anderson can adapt to many conditions wereas Asif is really only good on Asian pitches.

Didn't do great for Leics this season.

Mohammad Asif 240.1 45 788 25 31.52 5-56 2 0

When both came onto the scene they were both among the best in the world. But Asifs deadly seam movement has reduced a bit and Andersen no longer possesses the pace he once had

Yea the stats are for him having 75 wickets, i just probably deleted the 5, the average and strike rate are the same

Asif is better than Anderson on any pitch any day

How the hell can anyone compare the two? You have seen more of Asif than us, and we have seen more of Jimmy than you have. Until they both play in the same series, comparisons aren't very reliable. We are just gonna have to agree to disagree and get back on topic.

Anderson is a much better player than he was a couple of years ago, I really do rate him and think he'll fly once given more chances (which he would have done but for his injury).

Absolutley; He always seems to get injured whenever he finds a bit of form.
