Australia win nail-biter
The Aussies got off to the best start possible with Adam Gilchrist creaming Mortaza through the covers first ball for four.
Two balls later, Mortaza pitched up and Gilchrist smashed the ball so hard, that it made a dent in the billboard. 4 more!
2nd ball of the 3rd over and Gilchrist walked down the pitch and played one of his trademark slogs down the ground. It bounced on the roof and hit a car on its way out.

Next ball, Gilly creamed a ball straight into the ground and then headed for Habibul Bashar at cover point. He caught it and the Bangladeshi crowd went crazy. Only to find out it was a bump-ball.
Next ball, Gilly walked down the pitch for a wild slog and was unaware of a Yorker from Mortaza. It got inbetween bat and pad and crashed into off stump. He goes for 16 and Australia are 1/20.
He then fell to a good yorker from Mortaza.
Hayden fell for 4 next over and Australia are in slight trouble again as they fall to 2/20. Aziz bowled a full toss which Hayden tried to drive. He didn’t pick up the line of the ball and scooped the ball up to the fielder at cover.
Cam White hit his first boundary as Aziz strayed onto his hips. White just flicked his wrists and the ball went fine past the keeper down to long leg for four.
Only 1 run came from the next over and Ponting smashed the first ball of the fifth over, over the covers for four.
Ponting smashed a full delivery all the way for six in Mortaza’s 3rd over. It was just wide of the fielder, but still managed to creep over the rope for six.
White played the most amazing shot first ball of next over. He literally ran down the pitch and wacked the ball down the ground, and into the top tear for six. It hit an elderly man in the groin as he fell to the ground in pain. Laughs could be heard a mile away.
Cam White tried one too many advancing shots and ending up mis-timing a shot over cover, and instead was caught at cover. He goes for 10 and Australia are now 3/45.
Symonds walked down the pitch and hit his first six off only his 2nd ball. He stepped back and walked down to give him some room. And unleashed an almighty blow all the way for six.
Abdur Razzak was brought on and Ponting drive to advance down the pitch. Razzak gave him the quicker ball that deceived him. It resulted in an easy stumping for Khaled Mashud. He goes for 12 and Australia are now 4/51.

Hussey fell next over for 3 and Bangladesh have Australia on the ropes once again at 5/55.
After 10 overs, Australia were 5/58. They needed 34 runs to win at a run rate of 3.4.
4 overs passed and Australia moved onto 5/70. Tight bowling stopped the boundaries, but the flow of wickets dried up and Australia only need 20 more to win.
North fell 3 overs later to Khaled Mahmud. North tried to drive the balle down the ground, but the ball hit a crack and deviated off, and past the outside edge of his bat to drill off stump. He goes for 10, and Australia are safe at 6/78. Barring a late collapse.
Hopes chopped on a delivery for Alok Kopali next over as he went for the slog sweep. He got a bottom edge which rattled the stumps as he fell for 1. Australia are 7/81.
Hogg fell next over trying to smash Hannan Sarkar down the ground. He only resulted in chipping back to the bowler as he fell for 3. Australia are now 8/86 after 18 overs. Bangladesh are still in this game.
3 runs came off the next over, and Australia need 3 runs to win the final game, and take home the trophy. We join the commentary in the final over.

RP: Bloody oath we were. We should’ve lost by 1 run. But instead, they didn’t take that caught and bowled chance and we got away with victory.

RP: While the pitches were flat, all batsmen struggled. I was happy with our bowling, it’s just our batting that we need to fix.
SO: Your batting has been jittery lately. It took until the last over for you to chase 90 odd and you had another collapse. Signs aren’t good going into the Pakistan tournament.
RP: Yeah, we batted poor again. Just rash strokes. We lost 4/12 in the end and really screwed things up as we looked like we’d win comfortably.
SO: Looking ahead to the Pakistan tournament. This is the real test for you. Facing India, Pakistan and England.

Marverlous, marvelous. I sat there reading that, seeming i was listening to it on TV, or being at the ground and listenint to it on the radio. Bangladesh unlucky not to win the Series, but the Aussies just sneaked home.

Bracken and Tait back for Sharjah series.
Nathan Bracken and Shaun Tait will play in the first game of the Sharjah tournament, says skipper Ricky Ponting. Speaking at the launch of the tour, he said how great it is to have them back. "They are really important to our team. Tait with his pace, and Bracken with his swing and good use of the old ball at the death."
Australia will need to lift their game after struggling to overcome Bangladesh.
"Yes, we really struggled. Our batting has been shocking. Too many terrible shots. But I'm sure they can overcome this bad run."
Australia's first game is against Pakistan on the 11th of November.

RP: Well, it is very very hot and I don’t want our boys to get dehydrated before batting in the 2nd innings. Thus, the reason why I am batting first.

RP: Pup is in for Marcus North; and Bracko and Tait are back in the side.

Aussies off to good start
Autralia lost their first wicket in the 2nd over to a horrible call from Gilchrist. Going for the 2nd, Gilchrist called for the 2nd. Hayden was no hope and was out by 2 metres. He goes for 2, and Australia are 1/6 after 1 over.
Matthew Hayden is run out after a superb throw from long off.
Ponting smashed a full delivery all the way for four from his first ball. Sami over pitched and Ponting got under it to wack it to the midwicket fence.
First ball of the next over, Punter Ponting drove and full and wide delivery over cover for another four.
Next ball, he played a brilliant on drive through the gap and all the way for four.
First ball of the next over, Gilchrist danced down the pitch and drove the ball over cover for a four which only took 1 bounce.

Cam White fell next over to a very poor delivery. Ul-Hasan bowled a full toss which White tried to dive. He mis-timed it and Younis Khan took a marvellous catch diving forward. He goes for 2 and Australia are 4/93.
After 11 overs, Australia were 4/93 and in a good position.
