I think longevity is one of the biggest concerns with the game

One of the biggest problems seems to be Ross's inability to take on criticisms about any of his games, there's 3-4 reviews on glassdoor.com.au from past employees, all problems seem to stem from him unfortunately.
Very, very interesting. Big Ant has an overall job rating of 1.7 starts out of 5. The titles of the reviews are a strong indication of how things go down over there:

"A Poorly Run Studio" Poor management and CEO. The owner blames others for mistakes."

"Bully CEO. Low pay, no pay raises."

"You will get blamed for decisions made by the CEO"

"Sweat shop of horrors”

The CEO has zero respect for any of his staff. He is arguably a textbook psychopath, who uses and manipulates all those who work for him to give him the best short-term result, regardless of the personal cost. He is also the first to talk about the bad behaviour of other CEOs. Free lunches for staff, occasional trips to the footy and sponsorship of events are simply a strategy to improve his terrible image - something to put into job advertisements or post on social media. You're expected to work late nights and weekends with no reward, and prior commitments aren't an excuse for not doing so.

Start, end and break times are strictly monitored, despite all the extra hours worked. Sick leave is frowned upon greatly.

Pay is almost never on time. Watch your superannuation is being paid at all. If you manage to negotiate Time Off in Lieu on a project don't expect to have it paid out when you leave.

Work on the games themselves is done in ridiculous timeframes, with no time to polish gameplay or fix bugs. The poor reviews and multitude of stressful patches that follow are all the fault of the employees for not doing better.

Anyone on the critical path of the project can expect to be yelled at or belittled at least once a fortnight. Expect the focus to be on mundane things that nobody else cares about but the CEO, whilst in-your-face stuff slips past unchecked.

Junior staff can expect to be stuck on mundane tasks, and if they do those well they can expect to be parked on that forever and be criticised for lack of progression later.

If you ever consider quitting on the spot, you probably can't, because there's no other games jobs locally to walk straight into unless you're a junior living in your parent's basement and you want to work for indies who can't afford anyone else.

For me this is what caught the attention and made me believe the reviews are true.

The CEO spends most of his time on Facebook and the company forum
The CEO uses Facebook and forums as a way to set up what features need to be added. This happened after he ignored the project for months.
It is usually the team's fault if they don't create features the way the CEO expects. Even when he has not worked with the team to design the feature

Please allow to change the camera, I didn't know I would be forced to play from the camera behind the batsmen in single player

Why can't broadcast camera option be added in the single player game? It's there for multiplayer

The camera is the same in multiplayer as it is with single player? The guy started out bowling, so camera was behind him and then behind him while batting.

That is very worrying, but congruent with what we've seen in recent years. Not one for criticism, nor one to engage with the thoughts of others. The comment about lack of polish is particularly telling.

Sadly, such cultural issues in an organisation are usually hard to fix, and usually tethered not just to the personality that spawned them. Hopefully, it's not true, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Very sad. If it's true then the result is here we can see now.
