do i have to rename the file to user.DAT and replace te one thats already there? Is that all I need to do?

I use winrar. It doesnt complain of any crc errors. but do I have to rename the file or just plop it in the folder as acnames.... without any extension. How does the game recognize its a names file?

Not working for me either. I downloaded 7-zip as suggested and the file transferred across to the folder ok (or it appears to have done) but the names in the game are still all the same.

As one or two people have had problems with a corrupted zip, I've replaced it with a winrar version titled USER.

Still isn't working for me - I've gone throught the download process again - overwritten the previous User.dat file and the names are still exactly the same.

Am I missing something?

Steve - is there something that I need to change - I have followed what seems to be the correct process from download but no change in game. Is something write protected?
