Pakistan will win the ODI series against Poms hands down but the Test series will be somewhat close but Pakis might just win it .

Inverse for India ,I think beating India in a home test series is asking too much of this Pom side but the ODI series will be a lot close.

It will be a different challenge for MV's men. But I think in the end, as far as the test matches are concerned, England should end up with comfortable series win in both countries. Dont know about the ODIs, as I still have my doubts about the one day side.

But really, as important as it is to win all kinds of matches, the next main challenge for England is the Ashes tour down under. That will actually show how much England have improved after the 2-1 home series win over the Aussies.

I think England might just beat Pakistan in the tests (though I am supporting Pakistan against England!). The India-England series would be an absolute cracker! Who said its going to be easy for England in the India test series? India is the third ranked test side and are in very good form in the tests. They will beat England in the tests. India will be at real full strength with the re-entry of Sachin Tendulkar too and that too when he would have got adjusted to the vigors of international cricket after his injury!

Where's that thread you done?

Oh yes i remember.
We lost the Ashes, boo hoo.

I'm saying there should be a "They'll lose both option" for people who want to vote that. I can't see them beating Pakistan at home and they won't touch India.

I wouldn't say that. England have been playing awesome cricket. They are the benchmark currently. The Indian series will be a hughe test, but they will touch them.

And last time England toured Pakistan, they won, when the England side was weaker, and the Pakistan side was stronger.

We cant beat Pakistan? we did last time we toured there fool, and we have got much better since then.

India will be a test but one which wont phase england i feel. It will be a close series, IMO it will be 2-1 either way. I hope england.

Very warming to see people give some respect to the Indians!

England will definitely perform well in India! But to win the series, they need lots of skill against the spin of Harbhajan and Kumble. Its going to be a contest between the English batsmen and the Indian spin twins! Also England lack a world class spinner (Giles is there but not that much effective!). Even Shane Warne, arguably world's best ever spinner, has failed in India! So that would rankle the Englishmen and it would serve them very well if they blood some spinners immediately for the Pakistan tour! Those spinners need time to settle down so that they're ready for the India test series. Mind it, the Indian test series is the toughest that England are going to face in recent times (even the Ashes were on their home pitches which they know better than the Aussies)! India plays spin better than any other team in the world and the Indian spinners on their wickets are the most dangerous than any other in the world!

ODI's - Again a very close contest! I would say England stand a better chance of winning the ODI's even though both India and England are not in good form in the ODI's. But England are better than India in the ODI's based on current form!

Hate both India and Pakistan but them or England.....hmmm

Go the Paks and Indians!!!!!!!!!! :upray :cheers

England will hammer Pakistan but after bringing the Ashes home I feel that beating India in India is the Final Frontier. It will be a whole new ball game. If we can do that I think we take the World Test Championship of the Aussies which makes the Super Test v the World XI the final frontier...

Well if we can do it, we deserve the world Test Championship!!!!!!!!!!

I think the bottom line is that India play pace bowling a lot better than England play spin. It won't be so much that the tracks turn, moreso that they are slow and the English pacemen should be forced to toil long and hard in the hot and humid conditions. Giles, in my opinion shouldn't even make this tour, he is a hopeless liability, when you recall India can make even Warne or Murali look average.

By the way, Warne averaged 30 in India last year. Although it was far from his best, it was hardly a failure.

Which reminds me, WTF do the ACB have against Stuart MacGill?

:) england are looking in great form but they too prove their metal outside their home.
this will hapen in pakistan i think they will win but their strength will depend on how they win
but i think india :hpraise will defeate england but stiil will depend on what happens in pakistan

Giles was one of top (the top?) England bowlers last time we toured the subcontinent.
