Gileo will do ok, he will be in the team, and I wouldnt be suprised to see him pick up 20+ wickets in the 6 tests we play against india and pakkistan.

Giles will most probably resume his negative leg stump tactics against the Indian batsmen (Sachin Tendulkar?) to irritate them into getting out!

Giles has been a pretty shrewd bowler though not world class at all! He should get support from another spinner so that they can display their wares against India on their pitches!

Last time round giles was bowling a negative line and i think he was reprimanded too.
Anyhow england havent got any good spinners to take to india .however they do have the fast bowlers in harmison, jones and flintoff hoggard and not to forget gough who'll be there for the odi's.

No Gough should be dropped didn't do very well in RSA nor this summers ODIs.

negative? id describe that as good bowling. if you can frustrate a batsmen into giving their wicket away thats clever.

I wouldn't say that. England have been playing awesome cricket. They are the benchmark currently. The Indian series will be a hughe test, but they will touch them.

This sounds stupid as we won and outplayed them but we didn't fire on all cylinders vs Australia. Jones and Bell didn't contribute much with the bat, tres didn't get a 100. Harmison did well at Lords but only a couple of decent spells since then. Hoggard didn't have much success bar Oval.

I think we will do well i don't think we'll win both the series, but we might if our key men stay fit. We need an off spinner i think to make the use of the Indian Left Armers, so maybe Brown, Udal, batty or Swann. I'd pick Udal although he's 35. if they were to choose between Batty and Swann i would pick Swann.

Giles, in my opinion shouldn't even make this tour, he is a hopeless liability, when you recall India can make even Warne or Murali look average.

Giles did remarkedly well over the wicket in India last time. Even Tendulkar couldn't cope. His performance will be a vital factor in the series

I think england will lose both series, Pakistan might be easier, but pakistan seems a strong team at the moment. India will be tough to beat at home and in thier very hot conditions, I cant see them beating us.
GO INDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope England arent given Bangalore to play a test match! Thats like handing them the best conditions! Bangalore is a cooler place and would suit England very much! Sad that the test series would be played in February when the heat wave wouldnt have started! Had the series been scheduled in May-June, then a test match in Chennai would be the worst news ever for England!

Anyways, cant wait for it to come! England, according to me are the best right now! Waiting for that mouth watering stuff!

Tendulkar coped well enough to score 103 and 90. Giles bowled one good innings where he took 3 tailenders cheaply.

For that five-fer innings he averaged 13. For the 3 innings he bowled in the series, he averaged 33. Sense the trend over a longer series?

It's like low grade body line. It's not particularly clever, because (as if you couldn't tell) one doesn't get many wickets by it. In essence it just pushes a game closer and closer towards no result.

Your pathetic...using exscuses like that...bodyline, and giles bowling.

Look its clever not wrong, accept it!!

Its considered negative by some.. I for one consider it clever. when you're smashed for bowling on the off and middle stump, where else do you bowl to contain the batsman?

Sehwag showed superb strokeplay against Giles's tactics in that series and it was followed suit by Tendulkar. Sehwag came down the leg side and smashed Giles when he used those tactics! Tendulkar immediately took cue! Hope it happens again if Giles does that!

How is it clever? He averages 38!

Its a clever tactic when it works as it forces batsmen to give up their wicket. You saying its negative! well its not, its clever as it forces mistakes which is a crucial way of getting wickets.

For gods sake, dont have to be critical of england all the time cos your an aussie and you lost the ashes. Just a congratulations and acceptance of the way he bowls would be nice. But you act like a 5 year old, so i doubt we will get that.

I think the bottom line is that India play pace bowling a lot better than England play spin. It won't be so much that the tracks turn, moreso that they are slow and the English pacemen should be forced to toil long and hard in the hot and humid conditions. Giles, in my opinion shouldn't even make this tour, he is a hopeless liability, when you recall India can make even Warne or Murali look average.

By the way, Warne averaged 30 in India last year. Although it was far from his best, it was hardly a failure.

Which reminds me, WTF do the ACB have against Stuart MacGill?

Will you lay off Giles! :mad Does it make you feel better after losing the Ashes to have a go at Giles?! No he's not the best in the world, but as Boycott says he makes the best of his ability and is always striving to improve himself.
