WEST INDIES vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 3RD ODI!
SOUTHAMPTON, ROSE BOWL
50 OVER UPDATE!

GAYLE CENTURY, WINDIES RESTRICTED OR NOT?
The Windies innings has finally come to an end and an exciting one at that. This has turned out to be a very interesting contest between both sides with the Windies feeling they could have done more, and the Indians feeling they've done their job. It was more or less a Chris Gayle show today, but has he done enough with this splendid effort. He took the game to the Indians and made this one of the West Indies best batting performances in a long while.

We spoke about Sarwan giving Gayle a hand, but he has been slow has he been a bit too slow? We feel he could have upped the run rate a bit more before getting out or did he do the right job and leave the hitting to Samuels and Sarwan who were in to bat later on? A challenging total has been set, and this could have a historic outcome. If the pitch helps the Windies out early on we could see some tight batting from the Indians, especially if they lose wickets!

INDIANS FIGHTING HARD!
India will feel they have done an amazing job, having been under the kosh through out the whole of the innings, they pulled back some tight bowling and got rewarded when they were able to knock over Gayle, who would have taken this match away from them in the last ten overs or so. The spinners did a great job for India too as they always do, stopped the run rate and only allowed West Indies to score from one end...Sarwan had a tough time of it, but tried to hang in there for Gayle's sake.

Sarwan eventually made fifty but then tried to up the run rate and was caught in the infield, it's a suprise seeing as he did some really big hitting in the test series which was a joy to watch. So then the game is set and the Indians must be thinking that they have to win, they have done a great job in keeping the total down, now they must win this match having bowled themselves into a winning position...the pitch however may react differently but we'll see about that!

THE SCORECARDS, END OF INNINGS!

A well deserved century by Gayle and fifty by Sarwan. India gets a tough target of 255. So, I hope India wins it!!:upray

Great update Punk.

a very tough task for india but i think that they are up to it. i feel this is going to be a close one
well done again punk

Hmm, Sarwan was a bit slow, although Gayle was class. Still a competitve score, but if Sarwan had gone faster they could have got 300. Should be an interesting run chase, hopefully Windies can win this.

Well done Punk, excellent pres and congrats on SOTM :thumbs

Nice batting by Gayle and Sarwan.

Nice update Punk KUTGW!!

WEST INDIES vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 3RD ODI!
SOUTHAMPTON, ROSE BOWL
10 OVER UPDATE!

INDIA LOSE EARLY WICKET!

It's been a slightly sub-dued start to this second innings, with not much happening. The talking point would be the first wicket, when Sehwag was bowled early on for a small ammount of runs, this gave the West Indies a real boost but not much has happened since then.

Gambhir has tried to cement his place into this innings as India try to make neat work of this match, he's played a composed role but he will need backing support, and so will India as their not batting down the order like they have done in recent times, so the core of the batsmen will really have to put their foot down. One other thing which will be irritating the West Indians is the chance they got of Gambhir. He nicked one and Ramdin went diving to his left for it but it just seemed to go through his gloves, this would have given Gambhir a warning to not let slip his gaurd and conecentrate, however concentrating is also needed from all the batsmen...we'll see how things pan out in the next twenty overs, stay tuned until then!

Great stuff Punk, was not following till now, but will follow from here on, and a much better batting lineup for the West Indies I must say :p.
Keep doing your stuff mate.

How the hell did you get trees outside the ground? Is it just I don't have my graphics turned up enough?

Anyway, good start by the Windies bowlers, good restrictive bowling and the massive wicket of Sehwag. Hopefully they can continue this.

Fantastic work Punk, love this story, best one around in months :)

It's really bad to lose Sehwag early, but India will still chase that. Good work as usual.:clap

WEST INDIES vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 3RD ODI!
SOUTHAMPTON, ROSE BOWL
30 OVER UPDATE!

TENDULKAR BOWLED OUT TOO!
The West Indians got a key breakthrough of Sachin Tendulkar as Jerome Taylor who is making his come back to the side, bowled him out with a gem of a delivery. It did enough of the seam and Tendulkar was playing the ball for some late swing which didn't happen, this ball held it's line and un-done the little master.

This slowed down the Indian innings a fair bit not letting them attack too much as they didn't want to lose another wicket. The West Indians have been trying to make a big effort in the field however we feel they are missing something from their line up, and if the Indians go in full swing then the Windies may be in trouble and will have to look for that something special in their bowling line up!

GAMBHIR & YUVI CRACK DOWN!
Gautan Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh have been trying to steady the ship for the Indians after the loss of Tendulkar, Gambhir has been the one who took the attack to the West Indies early on, however since then the runs havn't been flowing as frequently as the Indians would have liked and the West Indies are in a commanding position, as the Indians have it all to do in these last twenty overs. However lets not overlook Gambhirs knock, he has improved so much over the last year and India may well have been out of this match if he hadn't kept his cool but he has and will look to guide his country to victory.

Now the main problem will be to up the run rate, not many runs have been flowing as we mentioned and something needs to be done about it. It also seems that this is a good batting track as both teams have lost minimal wickets, however West Indies did more damage with the bat, at this stage in the game we can say it's all even India have only lost two wickets and have plenty of batsmen to come in to smash the thing all over the place, so these last twenty overs will be a joy to watch were sure of it, stay tuned!

Good stuff Punk, but we need to get one of these guys, Yuvi and Gambi really pushing on, maybe its time for Gayle to have a bowl. If possible can you post bowling figures as well. Keep it going, nice match thus far and updates as well!!
