Story England's Journey To The ASHES 09 - Natwest Tri-Series: ENG v IND FINAL!

LOL, Sachin looks like he was padding up to a spinner in that dismissal. Good old EA ;) Gambhir and Yuvraj are doing well here, Windies need more wickets.

Lovely work mate, very good :clap

WEST INDIES vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 3RD ODI!
SOUTHAMPTON, ROSE BOWL
50 OVER UPDATE!

MASTER BLASTERS OUT FOR INDIA!
India got a bit of a scare when their big hitters in Yuvraj and Dhoni were dismissed, they both played little cameos to support Gambhir, however one of them had to stay out there to carry on the support but this didnt happen and left Gambhir to do a bit of work, however Kaif and Pathan were still to come in.

Yuvraj and Dhoni both got out in similar fashion of trying to slog the ball and up the anti so to speak. The Indian innings wasn't the fastest of innings and it didn't whip up too much excitment of course...until later on. Some will say that Dhoni and Yuvraj's knocks were what India needed, which is true, but what if both of them didn't perform then this could pose a problem for India in the near future...

GAMBHIR THE STAR OF THE SHOW!
Gautan Gambhir has been the star of the moment for India he has single handedly taken on this West Indian team and also carried on the trend of hundreds, we've had a hundred in every match of this Natwes Series. Gambhir however will rate this one highly, after India had a tough day in the field he has been able to take the attack to West Indies and make them feel under pressure. Not for a moment did the rising start look to be in trouble as he carried out this fluent innings to do India all the good in the world.

He didn't only make a hundred, his hundred won the match for India, it was another outstanding knock that we can appreciate and keep in our minds for a long time. Gambhir seems to be a thorn in the side of many teams, he is very good at staying out there and he batted well with all his partners. When Yuvraj and Dhoni were going at it he let them play there shots whilst he supported the two of them, but when it was needed for him to hit some shots then that happened to, he wasn't afraid to chance his arm and this is what won the match for India!

INDIA WIN BY 5 WICKETS, MATCH RECAP COMING UP NEXT!

good win for india. i knew it would be close and it was with a great hundred by gambhir kutgw

wow with only 3 balls left, that was close. Great knock by Gambhir. Great presentation as always. The resolution on those graphics looks very good, very crisp. Plus im very surprised to see blue sky on a EA cricket game. Its always cloudy and gloomy, so that was nice to see.

But I Really want to know, What Font do you use on your scorecards? it looks really good.

Nice knock from Gautam Gambhir. He managed to stay from the very first ball to the very last! :D

Only just got the win which they shoul dof got a little earlier, considering their wickets in hand but they got their in the end. Gambhir was awesome with the bat and was well partnered from Dhoni and Singh. The scorecards and graphics look very very good Punk and it was a pleasure to read.

WEST INDIES vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 3RD ODI!
SOUTHAMPTON, ROSE BOWL
MATCH RECAP!

WEST INDIES 1ST INNINGS!
The West Indies had an exciting first innings with Chris Gayle leading the show with a brilliant knock of 113 runs, and thats what got things going for the West Indies. The two openers both did there part although Devon Smith didn't last long he was attacking from the go too, which gave the two West Indian a lot of confidence batting first up.

After a rocking ten overs for the West Indies, the hard hitting batsmen Chris Gayle was still out there smashing the ball to all parts as he now build his partnership with the slightly sluggish Sarwan. We say sluggish but Gayle was going at such a pace that minimum runs were required by Sarwan who only had to contribute at the end. Many say he didn't play his part despite getting a fifty, he could have scored many more runs and put the West Indians in a very strong position, especially with the fact that they had wickets in hand.

Gayle was then dismissed to Indians joy as the Indians bowled very tight in the last few overs which put pressure on the batsmen. Dewayne Bravo's return with the bat wasn't a sucessful one as he got out cheaply, but Samuels and Chanderpaul did some hard hitting towards the end to ensure that the West Indies will have something to bowl at, both men played little cameos and guided their team to a competitive total of 254!

INDIA 2ND INNINGS!
India's reply was a shakey one, they lost wickets early and it seemed that this trend would continue throughout their innings, but it didn't. Early on Gambhir was the only one scoring with comfort whilst Sehwag got castled, and so did Tendulkar shortly after. In the start of the innings there weren't many sparks from the batsmen and we though they were going to go about it slowly until Yuvraj and Dhoni had their go with the bat.

Gambhir and Yuvraj were going slow at one point but around the 25 over mark Yuvraj started to dominate with the bat whilst Gambhir played a supporting role, they were going at a good pace and both men looked like they knew what they were doing, we knew some hard hitting was required.

Speaking of hard hitting, Yuvraj got out trying to do that and then MS Dhoni made his way to the crease, he took a little bit of time to settle in but eventually exploded and gave India exactly what they needed in the last few overs as Gambhir started to risk his arm towards the end which gave India the momentum to take the match away and they did so in fluent fashion even though it lasted up till the 50th over it was as comfortable as it could be for India to take the win!

ENGLAND vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, FINAL!
NOTTINGHAM, TRENT BRIDGE
2ND INNINGS, 10 OVER UPDATE!

TEAM LINEUPS AND INDIA GETTING NO LUCK!
Were here at the start of this final Natwest match up between England and India. England are yet to beat India, and the pressure will be on them. However both teams seem evenly matched out, and this could be just as tight as their first encounter. There have been a few changes in the England squad. Luke Wright has come into replace Alistair Cook and Owais Shah has been moved to the opening position. This move has taken some stick but the English team have faith in the openers and are confident they will fire!

Set that aside, the Indian team havn't been doing to well so far, they havn't been able to get an early breakthrough despite the chance they got off a slightly watchful Luke Wright. He went for a stiff looking cover drive but his body didn't follow through with the shot and it got a genuine nick which was dropped at second slip. This is about the only chance India have had and they will regret not taking it!

LUKE AND SHAH CONFIDENT!
As the chances were dropped the new opening partnership got confident and played their shots freely. At first both men went slow especially after Wright nicked one, but then they showed composure and then started to feel more and more confident.

Some beautiful shots were being played and it was a true joy to watch. Then what really tilted these first ten overs to Englands advantage was the batting display Luke Wright showed us. He seemed really slow at first but then he unleashed and was scoring at a great pace really excelling the England innings. At one stage Shah just sat back and rotated the strike allowing Wright to keep flowing as he was and so far its been a joy to watch and we hope it can continue...on the other hand India need to crack down and really get a wicket!
