Hey guys, i just bought Cricket 2005

My PC has a 256mb gfx card, 512ram, 3.2 ghz processor and all the specs are WAY over required yet i cannot run the game very well. Even with medium graphics quality, no shadows and 0 alias(what is that alias thing?) it still laggs/runs slow and the graphics look rubbish. Please help!!

Have you tried running a virus checker such as adaware or spybot, defrag too and have you the latest graphic card drivers?

1) It doesn't necessarily matter if your card has 256Mb of RAM if it has no real power. The RAM mainly affects the size and quality of textures it can display comfortably (I realise that this is a massive over-simplification so don't crucify me please techno geeks). What kind of card is it?

2) Usual question: do you have the latest drivers installed.

3) Anti-aliasing is the process used by the card to smooth out jagged lines in edges in the graphics. It is a very intensive process so unless your card is hardcore, don't bother with it. (I'm not trying to start a d**k swinging contest by the way).

4) I play with all the settings cranked up to full and it's very jerky on the intro screens but super smooth during actual gameplay. I presume because there are lots of other background processes going on during the intro.

5) My friend plays on a P4 1.7Ghz with 512 RAM and an NVidia 5700 Ultra and it struggles a bit on his but only at high resolutions (i.e., 1280x1024 and above).

You might want to try the latest graphics drivers for your Radeon 9600 - catalyst 5.6 available from ati.com

I have the catalyst thingy, it has loads of options and settings, what i do?

It seems to be all manual changing things, isnt there just an easy download that will just sort everything :S

Right click on your desktop, click properties, click settings, click advanced, click 3d settings, slide the 3d graphics acceleration bar all the way down to high performance, (you may have to tick use manual settings to change it), click apply, try running cricket 2005 again with all the settings maxed up. This works a treat for me with a radeon 9200, so it should work easily with yours as my card is low end.

Failing this you have something pretty wrong, have you tried defrag your hard drive. Pretty obvious but thats all i can think of.

I presume ou have the latest drivers for your graphics card, sound card, and motherboard? Oh and directxc.

Yes, however i stopped playing the demo since i bought the game. And i think at least two other people out scored me in the end.

I still had the great satisfaction of beating Colin though. :D

I scored a hundred with Pieterson in 69 balls on the demo, i think.

nope, nothing works, cricket 2005 is just officially ****

Centuries, i got mine off 20-30 balls or sumin on medium :S
