Well I can't say Ponting didn't deserve the awards he got. He has performed consistently for a good period of time. I am happy Ian Bell got the Emerging Player of the Year award. I think he deserved it. Mike Hussey has batted well throughout the year as well and although some people may debate his selection as the ODI player of the year, I feel he deserves the award.

Ponting deserved cricketer of the year, but either Yousuf or Murali should've gotten Test player award.

Yeah, exactly, my stats were taken from August 1 2005 - August 8 2006 which was the period.

So why is this year relevant?

I agree that Mohammad Yousuf should have got Test Player of the Year. He aboslutely blitzed England, and if it wasn't for him then England would have trounced Pakistan.

Urm, can someone tell him the series score?

Yousuf is brilliant, he did give us chances early on, but we didn't take them.
