It (the wicket) was always coming. Good to see that Sri Lanka started with intent. Big hopes for Fernando.
The strike rates of these top order batsmen are mind boggling. Goes on to show that it is heavily impacted by the dud scores where they haven't got going. They are far too talented to be such inconsistent.
That being said, another one bites the dust. Wonder if the skipper would promote himself and lead the innings by example.

Death, taxes and SKY saving the Indian lineup in every T20I possible.
No surprises that Gill gave us his best impression of a Rahul… just get Shaw in there. Tripathi’s someone who should also be in the scene to test his quality against international attacks as he’s got the right mentality for this format. Hope we don’t persist with Chahal after this… Bishnoi should walk into this side.
The bloke deserves even more praise given the context of his rise. He's from a system that has actively neutered multiple exciting talents and turned them into more or less the same batters and there is no doubt that there would have been immense pressure on him from multiple folk to abandon the way he plays and bat 'sensibly' because he can play any shot whenever he wants. In addition this guy comes into a dysfunctional side (having had a spat with the previous skipper and most famous star) that is constantly rotated from series to series with no stable batting partners at an age where most people start winding down their journeyman careers and he's not only played in the way befitting of a modern T20 batter but he's also done that consistently when he knew that a string of failures would cost both his spot in the side as one of the blokes not in the hallowed inner circle and his reputation amongst the fans for being reckless.
I dearly hope we continue to see more of him just doing his thing in Indian colours. Even if he's just limited to a T20I career he's been a trailblazer that hopefully allows the likes of Dhull and others to bat more freely than the current limited version of themselves.
