India's Fastest Bowler is BACK

Can't Zak and Sharma touch 140 consistently? Or at least Sharma? Don't understand how you go from touching 151 to barely touching 139.

Sharma is a 138kmph bowler. That is fast by Indian standards, with the thick air and placid pitches we have in the subcontinent. In Australia, we saw him touch 145 plus. Hell, even Irfan was bothering Australian batsman in 07 and he was getting good movement in the air and off the deck at 140k's.

Zaheer isn't as quick. He's changed his game for longevity and is focusing on swing, which is good. He doesn't need pace, he's a master of moving the ball and is def. among the best quicks we've produced.

Zaheer is moving on the McGrath line. And thats what we need from him because he is lethal when he is like that. His improvement in the last few years has been remarkable. Once at a time, I thought Zaheer might fade away as someone who always promised a lot but didnt have control and frequently broke down. He still breaks down, but his control has been so good.

We need backup for Zaheer (ie. someone who can have control so that the other end can attack). Ishant is best when he attacks. Nehra is the same too. Munaf does both horribly. Irfan was good at tying things up, but his pace makes him cannon fodder (so is Praveen).

I think it would be worth giving Irfan a shot in the allrounder's position at number 7. His batting is good enough I reckon, he can turn it on and can play a responsible role. His bowling is better than the likes of Yusuf and Jadeja too, and gives another seam up option to Dhoni.

Batting -

1. Virender Sehwag
2. Sachin Tendulkar
3. Gautam Gambhir
4. Yuvraj Singh
5. MS Dhoni
6. Suresh Raina
7. Irfan Pathan

Bowling -
Zaheer
Ishant
Nehra/Praveen/Ojha
Irfan
Bhajji

I'm digging the balance.

How long will it take for Team India to make him slower like the other Indian bowlers were made lol

Venkatesh Prasad is not there anymore. So maybe the bowlers might not become slower as much as they used to before.

Ishant was barely breaking 130 in the first test. He's not going to be taking wickets at that pace, dead pitch or not.

his action looks all over the place. He seems to be doing too much as he is about to deliver the ball. Needs to clean it up and work on that.

The more help from the pitch, the higher his pace goes. He has been seriously affected by Venkatesh Prasad's policy of 'unhelpful pitch, dont give much pace'. Also in test matches, Indian bowlers dont hit high speeds unless the pitch is giving them lot of purchase, because they have to long spells and so they dont want to tire their body out by going all out in speed.

Why do want to search so hard for excuses?? Whats wrong in just accepting the fact that all indian bowlers are only medium?

Didnt you see the irony that overseas bowlers bowling in india under the same pitch conditions are able to bowl 145+ consistently??
Dont look any further than dammika prasad!!

Are you still gonna dig deeper for excuses?:facepalm

I agree with you
most of the bowlers are not fast
Ishant was really fast during the Commonwealth series , i even saw him hitting 150k for a free hit delivery
i believe the bowling coach ruined his natural style
hes only 21 how can he lost pace
Zak always tries for swing and he gets wickets also
now only sree is left who actually bowls 140+
Hope to see him in the next game:banana2
