England Announce Squad
Opening Partners - Andrew Strauss and Alistair Cook
England were at Lord's today to announce their squad for the Test series against Bangladesh.
Andrew Strauss will once again lead the team into a busy summer of cricket, and with company from Alistair Cook, his new vice-captain, Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen, there will be no lack of leadership within the squad. The debated position of opening bowler no.2 has been settled for the time being with Graham Onions chosen ahead of Tim Bresnan, Steven Finn, Steve Harmison and Amjad Khan, while new-boy Ajmal Shahzad is welcomed into the Test Squad for the first time.
Ravi Bopara returns to the squad, but admits that he will have to improve if he wants to keep that place in the Test Side, because he knows that there is great talent coming up through the ranks, and knows that he is not the best of them.
There is still no place for Eoin Morgan, but when questioned about him, coach Andy Flower responded by saying that his time will come, and that the selectors know what he can do. The other new-boy in the squad is South-African born Craig Kieswetter, who could be the eventual replacement for Matt Prior, who remains in the squad.
The Full 14-Man Squad:
1. Andrew Strauss (c)
2. Alistair Cook (vc)
3. Ian Bell
4. Kevin Pietersen
5. Paul Collingwood
6. Matt Prior
7. Luke Wright

9. Graeme Swann
10. James Anderson
11. Graham Onions
12. Craig Kieswetter
13. Ajmal Shahzad
